Hello Everyone, I have just moved to Dijon from the UK and I would like to offer my services as an English tutor for any reason which might be useful for you. Whether you would like to practice your speaking ability with a casual conversation and work on your accent, or maybe you have some school homework I can help with. I can also tailor a specific learning course towards your needs with exercises, speaking practice and homework. I have experience teaching children English in South America and I also have experience learning languages myself so I understand which are the effective ways to learn and what is important to work on to improve. Hi, my name is Stephan I am from the Netherlands and am studying in Dijon for a year. I have been a youth trainer in the Netherlands delivering workshops all around the country. I have been speaking English for an incredible part of my life and used it professionally in my academics as well as personally with my international network of friends. I can teach English discovering new themes, building vocabulary, grammar, writing and readind, listening and speaking. This can be decided upon later.

English is falsely presented as an easy language, especially by French speakers. This is a serious mistake! While French is often difficult because of the many grammatical exceptions, particularly regarding spelling, English is endowed with immense complexity in terms of its sounds. Whereas the French speaker complains about itchy eyes, the English speaker will have difficulty hearing you, and no, it's not snobbery; their ear has been educated in a more subtle way. The greatest difficulties in English come from its chaotic sounds, which at first seem absurd or even useless, while they are proof of the many influences and transformations of this language, which has become the de facto lingua franca almost everywhere on the planet. To simplify, English is the result of a Germanic invasion of Celtic lands, Latinized by Vikings speaking Old French from Normandy. The syntax is originally Germanic, but the auxiliary verb do is Celtic, and more than half of its vocabulary is Latin or French! In short, English is much more complex and subtle than it seems, and it's not for nothing that most French speakers pronounce it badly!
