Maths Tutoring as an Academic Supplement: Up to and Including GCSE

I am offering classes to supplement pupils' learning in computer science and mathematics. Lessons will be 60 minutes, which include: Teaching the topic, checking pupil's understanding throughout, brief independent work, live marking with pupil, setting homework for next lesson. Pupils can be from Year 7 to Year 13. I also offer programming lessons for pupils who wish to improve their Python or Java programming skills; this will not be restricted to what is usually covered in GCSE and A-level specifications and is only recommended for keen programmers who are willing to work through challenging content!

This course is focused around the AQA syllabus for GCSE Maths students- though it will helpful for any intermediate level student. The classes will use the CGP Exam Practice Workbooks as a guide but will be tailored towards whatever areas or concepts my students need to work on, or are curious to learn more about. Rather than just 'talking at' my students, I want to make sure they are involved- and I believe the best way to do that is working through questions together. I am a recent graduate of the University of Manchester, with a degree in Physics with Philosophy.

Math is a very important subject that will be useful in other subjects in the future. My sessions will depend upon age group and year group, but they will mostly consist of some maths activities and games, as well as quizzes, and of course the main teaching. Sessions are also open to interpretation, if there is something a student has been learning in class and needs some help with, this is possible!

I am a qualified and experienced mathematics tutor. Graduated from the Free University of Brussels in 2011, I started my career by teaching remedial courses in different schools in Brussels. I provide my private lessons in Limoges (at the student's home) or remotely (online via the internet). My distance learning courses take place on an interactive online whiteboard. This board is specially designed to promote student/teacher interaction on the internet. Thanks to this educational tool, my online courses are as effective as home courses. The student only needs an internet connection and a computer, tablet, or smartphone to take advantage of it.
