Let’s have fun in English and reinforce French if needed

We have to make one original introduction, aren’t we?

Let me introduce you to a new thing!

English isn’t my mother tongue, but I felt in love with the language when I discovered series, films and interviews, and I would like to share that passion with to children I will take care of (it doesn’t mean I will let them watch a lot of videos without any content.)

But I think learning with subtitles is very entertaining and useful, that is how I went to A2 level in English, to C1 level of my university.

Based on the classes of your children, or the website for documentation NPR, I will offer to help the better I can, to learn some basics, the oral approach, the written comprehension, to learn each day a few more useful words.

To make a bit more cash and to keep up with my former life as a teacher, I teach some extra classes to teenagers and adults alike. I am a qualified teacher of the English language with a specialisation in working with teenagers who are challenged by ADHD, Autism, ADD and PDDNOS. After working as an English teacher and mentor in different types of schools in the Netherlands, Belgium and South Africa I am currently living in Paris and very motivated to help students improve their English in different ways.

Each tutorial is geared around the needs of the individual child. Some children are visual learners, others are more tactile, while others still have difficulty focusing.

For beginner students, we work with visuals and then we do a lot of role playing, identifying the visuals we revised earlier. One of the games we play that kids love is The Grocer, where they sell or buy the items on display. We also play The Pub ( restaurant) and we use real menus and paper money. There's lots of signing and dancing, of course....

For the older kids, we work on things such as poetry, audio-skills by watching and discussing video clips, and lots more. I have one ESL student who is interested in literature and we tackled some of the easier classics like Hemingway. I also assign projects such as creating an English YouTube channel, a comic book series, cooking presentations, to name some of the best projects I've had over the years.

I have experience teaching through the net. In the past we've used Skype, since it's free (unlike zoom ). I've taught students as young as 9 through Skype.

Affected by the fact that it is damaged, it may be less.
