About Me

I am a bilingual speaker of English and Greek who has been teaching English as a Foreign language for 15 years. I have helped many students sit the IELTS exam and achieve the band they need. I have studied English and French Literature and I am currently a student of Psychology. I am passionate about learning and teaching as well as helping student succeed in their targets. I am also a keen language learner (apart from English and Greek I also speak French and Italian) and currently trying to learn German. So I can identify with the challenges language learners face. I have a first-class MA undergraduate in English literature from the University of Edinburgh, so am up to date with contemporary literary theory and debates. Furthermore, I sat the Scottish National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher English exams myself, and achieved A's, as recently as 2018 so I have an understanding of what the courses entail.

Utopian Studies extends the notion from Thomas More's Utopia to the emergence of dystopian literature, highlighting the connection between fictionalized literary works and reality. The seminar is designed for students with advanced reading skills as the primary readings are mainly novels. Students are expected to carry out individual research. Further readings (journals, academic papers, etc) will be provided to support the discussion during the class.

I have worked in the state sector as class teacher for 5 years before moving into the private sector in 2021. Since then, I have been working as a teacher/tutor/governess within private households to provide homeschooling and travel tutoring services to families and children.
