All-styles drumming, percussion and music theory lessonsTranslate this text using Google Translate.

I've been a drummer for almost 20 years now, and I've graduated from both Brussels Royal Conservatory of Music (classical percussion) and Mons Royal Conservatory of Music (pedagogy). I've been teaching percussion, the drums and music theory for a little more than 4 years now. My students are always the real actors of my courses. No matter what instrument you are learning, be it percussion, the drums, marimba, vibraphone, or music theory, I always pay close attention to your personal goals, and together we devise a unique learning plan that adapts to your strengths as well as your weaknesses. My courses are aimed at anyone who is willing to put effort into learning music; children or adults, complete beginners or more advanced players who wish to receive additional feedback and insight. Autonomy, creativity, curiosity and listening skills are the true pillars of my methodology. We pay as much attention to technique as to musicality or listening skills. Additionally, I provide tailored exercises, on-demand sheet music and transcriptions according to your needs, as well as additional resources and recommendations on my website to nourish your musical life and journey. I teach the following: -the drums, in various styles (rock, funk, jazz, shuffle, pop, world music, latin music, on-demand songs) and forms (Moeller technique, speed, rudiments, syncopation, breaks, solo, independence, musicality, double pedal, push-pull, etc.); -percussion (2 or 4-mallet marimba and vibraphone, xylophone, timpani, cajón, hand percussion), in both contemporary and classical music styles; -music theory, which can and will easily be integrated into my drumming or percussion courses, or can be taught as a separate course for music students who are seeking remedial education; -harmony; -sight reading techniques; -perfect and relative pitch (experimental)

Drum lessons for all levels – learn, progress and above all, enjoy playing!Translate this text using Google Translate.

I am Julien, a drummer since childhood and a drum teacher since 2005. Trained at the Agostini School in Orléans and then at Jazz à Tours as part of a DEM Jazz in collaboration with the Conservatoire de Tours, I also worked for several years as a professional musician. Today, I am returning to what I love most: transmitting knowledge directly and building work that is truly tailored to each student. My teaching method is based on a simple principle: you learn drums by making music. Therefore, I don't offer a one-size-fits-all approach: we start with your level, your tastes, your learning style, and what you want to do with the instrument. The first lesson also serves as an introduction and assessment to understand your profile and define a direction for work together. If you're a beginner, no prior musical knowledge is necessary. We'll start with the basics of the instrument: posture, stick grip, sound, coordination, and basic rhythms, with the goal of being able to play along to songs quickly. Theory and reading music are introduced gradually as needed. If you already play, we work from your playing and your objectives: groove, placement, coordination, technique, sound, new styles, improvisation, pieces, playing in a group or preparation for a particular project. I also value human connection highly. I prefer a simple, relaxed, and trust-based relationship, far removed from an overly hierarchical teacher-student dynamic. It's essential to be able to ask questions, experiment, make mistakes, exchange ideas, and maintain the joy of playing. My goal: to help you progress, understand your playing and gradually become independent, while keeping the music at the center.
