VIOLIN AND/OR MUSIC THEORY LESSONS

When I begin teaching an individual, I make sure that I inspire them and teach them the value and beauty of music. I am very thorough about teaching technique properly so that it will last and be an asset in one's musical future, but I still like to keep my students on their toes and excited about actually making music and adding life to the notes they draw out of their instruments. Each individual is different and has different goals they wish to achieve with their playing, thus, for me it is very important to establish a connection with my students and cater each lesson to their specific needs and learning style.

I have had the pleasure of sharing my love of music with musicians of all ages ever since I began teaching the violin in 2014. I teach both young and mature students, focusing my energy on private lessons. I have also had the opportunity to work with groups of young children at summer programs in collaboration with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.
Informations supplémentaires
If you do not have an instrument, do not worry, I can provide you with advice and point you in the right direction for either renting or purchasing an instrument!

It would be great if you have a small notebook that you can bring with you to lessons where we can keep track of what we worked on during your lesson and jot down important notes and progress!

For lessons at your home: Depending on the distance I must travel to get to your home, I may or may not charge a small travel fee in order to cover my travel costs.

Présentation
My name is Lavinia and I am a classical violinist studying at the Royal Academy of Music in Marylebone, London. I am passionate about sharing music with others particularly through teaching and mentoring musicians of all ages. I have been teaching for over five years and work with musicians of all levels and ages. I am happy to teach students with a variety of goals for their musical development. Whether for a hobby or more serious involvement, I will put my utmost effort into providing unique lessons directed towards your individual learning style and objectives! You can find my biography below:

From Romania, to Canada and finally to London – Ana-Lavinia has migrated to many stages and teachers in order to feed her love of music. Lavinia completed her Bachelor of Music with Honours at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Professors Joshua Fisher and Remus Azoitei. She received the Clarence Myerscough Centenary Award for her performance in her undergraduate final recital and was welcomed back to continue her studies at the Academy in the Master of Arts programme.

She has had the pleasure playing alongside the Academy’s Symphony Orchestra in the Royal Albert Hall and has had various performances in London’s Cadogan Hall, St. Paul’s Covent Garden and multiple popular concert venues. She has also had the opportunity to work with amazing musicians and conductors including Sir Mark Elder, Robert Trevino, Thomas Gould, Jac van Steen and Marin Alsop.

In 2014, Lavinia had her solo debut with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, alongside American conductor John Morris Russell at the Centre in the Square, which is regarded as “one of the finest performance spaces in North America”. Following her debut, she was invited back to perform with the orchestra on multiple occasions, playing prominent repertoire such as Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole and the Sibelius Violin Concerto.

Lavinia has won numerous Canadian awards from the Kiwanis Music Festival, Kitchener Waterloo Symphony Youth Orchestra and competitions she has attended. She has also, for multiple years, been a top prize winner of the Canadian Music Competition. In London, she enjoys performing alongside the Ivor Trio and has participated in countless orchestral performances, many times leading orchestras such as the Horton Chamber Orchestra.

Professional lessons in London for beginners and intermediate players of all ages.

Hi, I’m Eleazar, and I’m here to help you discover (or rediscover) the art of playing the violin. My course focuses on building strong foundational skills and mastering the basics, essential for anyone starting out or looking to solidify their technique.

My goal is to help you build the strong technical foundations that lead to freedom and joy in playing the violin while keeping the learning process fun and engaging. Whether you’re a beginner or an intermediate player, my lessons are designed to guide you through mastering the basics so that you can ultimately play with confidence and ease.

What makes my teaching unique?
🎻 A Fresh Perspective on Violin Technique
I had the privilege of studying with world-renowned violinist Zakhar Bron, and at the age of 21, I had to completely rework my violin technique. Because I learned it later in life, I can break down the essentials and explain them in a way that’s easy to understand—something most violinists, who learned their technique as young children, often struggle to do. Together, we’ll build the foundations that will allow you to play freely, rather than feeling restricted by technique.

🌍 Multilingual Lessons
I’m a native French speaker and fluent in both Spanish and English. You can choose the language you’re most comfortable with, so we can focus entirely on making progress with your playing.

📍 Flexible Lessons in London or Online
I offer lessons in person here in London, but I’m also available online if that suits your schedule better. My goal is to make violin lessons accessible, convenient, and enjoyable for everyone.

🎯 Tailored for Beginners and Intermediate Students
My lessons are specifically designed to help you build a solid technical foundation, develop your sound so you can truly play freely and express yourself.
You’ll leave each session feeling accomplished and confident.

Slogan:

"Build your foundation. Play with freedom. Enjoy the music."

Has your previous piano learning experience been a bit dull? Are you seeking a fresh approach to piano lessons? In my piano lessons, inspired by the Jacques-Dalcroze method, you'll enjoy a unique musical journey beyond just playing the piano and studying theory. You'll also be singing, improvising on the keyboard, and even moving to the music through dance. Learning piano should never be boring, and it certainly isn’t for me or my students. With me, you’ll discover the countless ways the piano can express music. You’ll explore compositions from various composers, periods, and styles, from the classical works of Mozart, Bach, Debussy, and Chopin, to modern pieces, pop songs, and jazz, including Shostakovich. Through eurhythmics exercises, you'll not only play but also feel the music by moving with it, enhancing your musical knowledge and deepening your emotional connection to sound. If you're unsure about moving with the music, don’t worry—I’ll be there to guide you in finding a way to enjoy and love music. I've played the piano since I was five years old and hold a Bachelor’s degree from the Geneva Music University. More recently, I completed my MA in Interdisciplinary Dance Performance at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. While my teaching experience mainly focuses on children aged 5-10, I am also well-versed in providing music training and piano lessons for adults. Most lessons are 60 minutes long, but I’m happy to adapt the timing and content based on your needs. Please feel free to get in touch if you're interested in lessons. I look forward to sharing my passion for music with you!
