Oliver - Ypenburg75€
Trusted teacher: I am an interactive teacher with 8 years of experience in schools and 16 years as a tutor. I have a strong background in physics and astronomy/astrophysics, and I have taught these subjects at the university level. My academic background includes studies in science, education, and science communication. My teaching approach is friendly, open, and engaging while maintaining clarity and directness. I believe in using a variety of materials, interactive simulations, and conceptual learning to make the learning experience enriching and enjoyable. As an educator, my online teaching abilities have significantly improved over time, and I am well-adapted to the online learning environment, especially given the previous situation with Covid. Teaching Methodology: Effective teaching goes beyond simply presenting information or repeating the same material. To truly help students grasp concepts, it is essential to approach subjects from various angles, allowing students time to make connections. Making learning interesting in a classroom setting requires practice and skill, and I have honed these abilities over many years. I am dedicated to continually enhancing my teaching skills as I both teach and learn myself! Reason for pricing: I am an expensive tutor, there is no doubt that my hourly rate is high, but there is a reason for this. I am very good at what I do. I am supportive, caring and I listen, reflect and share ideas / solutions / resources with students to work with and on both in our sessions and outside of it too. I make students feel comfortable to talk to me, make mistakes and engage with the content to the best of their abilities.

Tom - The Hague60€
Trusted teacher: 💬 Is your English pronunciation holding you back? • Do people misunderstand you and ask you to repeat yourself? • Do you notice that people get tired listening to you? • Do you feel judged before you even finish speaking? I’m Tom, a native English speaker from the south of England. I've developed my methods from a double master's degree in English and Applied Linguistics plus many years of teaching (I became a teacher at 22 and now I'm 35 – I'll let you do the maths). My methods are always backed by research, experience and student feedback. ❗ 45-minute lessons are via Zoom only I offer one-to-one English accent coaching personalised for your needs and goals. I will help you correctly produce the sounds of English so that you can immediately start speaking with more clarity, confidence, and control – and without feeling awkward or anxious. Although I take coaching seriously, and I want you to as well, my classes are also light-hearted and warm. People learn best when they’re enjoying themselves and feeling deeply interested, and that is my promise to you. I will correct your mistakes, but I will never shame or embarrass you for making them. My class is a place where people come to feel good and grow confidence. ⭐ English Pronunciation and Accent Coaching / Training / Reduction with a Qualified Expert Native Teacher WHAT WILL I LEARN? • Change key vowel and consonant sounds that cause misunderstandings • Control your rhythm, intonation and pausing • Build links between your hearing and speech muscles • Breathe comfortably and strengthen your voice • Adapt your voice appropriately for different purposes – meetings, interviews, presentations, pitches, conversations, and more ➡️ Fast pronunciation improvements – our main goal at all times WILL I SOUND 100% NATIVE? ❗Research shows that for most adult speakers, it's just not possible after our teenage years to develop a fully native accent. So, honest accent coaching is not about training you to sound native. Instead, a good coach will train you to be understood by as many people as possible and communicate exactly what you intend. That means fixing problematic sounds and expanding your range of vocal styles by borrowing from voice acting techniques, from sounding authoritative and executive to warm and supportive. If you do want to sound native, I can still help you – whichever accent you prefer – from the UK, USA, Australia or anywhere else. You might not sound fully native at the end, but you can still make adjustments so that you like the way you sound. WHAT ARE YOUR METHODS? I've learned my methods from a double master's degree in Applied Linguistics and English Linguistics plus many years of teaching. My methods are always backed by research, experience and student feedback. • I use modern evidence-based methods including speech visualisation software, shadowing and HVPT • I create my own original training materials tailored to YOUR individual language background, goals, requirements and preferences – I offer a customised course specifically for you, not a one-size-fits-all package • You’ll start with controlled practice to master new sounds, then move into spontaneous speech so that these skills become part of your everyday speaking habits. Curious to learn more or not sure if you need coaching? Send me a message and I'll be happy to give you my honest opinion.

Vanessa - The Hague60€
Trusted teacher: Looking to improve your singing, gain confidence, and express yourself better? I am a voice teacher with over 3 years of experience teaching students from ages 5 to adults. I have taught over 40 students in all genres, classical, musical theatre, and pop, and have successfully prepared them for ABRSM and Trinity exams. I believe that singing is innate to all of us, and if you can speak, you can sing! My class structure depends on your goals and starting point. During your lesson, we will explore your vocal profile and your goals, and I will show some of the vocal exercises that may help you. You can also bring a song you like, and we can work on the vocal technique, text, and facial or body expression. You can then decide if we are a good fit for one another. A singing class for children is very different from a class for adults. For example, with younger children, we do more vocal exploration and movement, to ensure that they build a love for music and to protect their voice. With adults looking to audition for semi-professional to professional jobs, we work on building a practical practice plan for your own vocal gym. For vocational adult amateurs, we may work on more songs than vocal exercises. I have a Master of Music in Singing (Classical) at the Royal Conservatoire The Hague, and previously graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Vocal Performance) from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. I've received training in contemporary pop singing style with Meredith Colby's Neuro-Vocal Method, and also believe in the body-based Alexander Technique method of posture alignment. I regularly go for voice teacher training to make sure I stay updated with factual, anatomy-based methods. Students say that I bring a high energy, productive structure, and a personable atmosphere to every class!

Estella is a very positive, always happy teacher. Even though my son has been having on-line lessons with her, we can always feel her positive attitude during the lessons. She is very patient, gives lots of important tips and feedback, which has been helping him to guide his learning, improving in every aspect of it. We can see how much she care about the whole learning experience. It’s been very useful to expend his time while at home doing the lessons. He has been practicing more and has been feeling more motivated since he started the lessons with her. We definitely recommend her as a Saxophone teacher!

I highly recommend Pieter as teacher. My daughter had difficulties with the English lesson at the school. He gave lessons to her intensively during two months and her test scores increased significantly from 4/5 to 8/9. The most important is that she now understands the grammatical rules and is much more confident. Pieter is going to continue giving lessons to her this school year 2023/24
