About Me
I’m a novelist, currently also a neuroscience grad student with a former life as a corporate executive at Accenture. I write forgotten histories about communities overlooked across time. My first book In the Palace of Flowers was set in Iran, named one of Times Radio’s top 5 books of the year, a Harvard special recommendation and named to African Arguments’ Best Books of 2021. My last essay for Granta was declared Best of the Literary Internet by LitHub and endorsed by Pen/Faulkner.
The “forgotten” is a central facet of my life and work. Tutoring is about focusing and attending to students who need more support that they are receiving in their class or have ambitions that cannot be catered to in the classroom, or are not able to access a traditional classroom. My tutoring practice is thus centred on the comfort, ease and needs of the student. I prioritise making them feel seen, visible, dignified because that is when their confidence and capabilities will shine. It is in these settings that they begin to thrive.

I’m a novelist (see my profile for my info) who studied Literature at Oxford. I help students develop their creative practice and improve their creative output regardless of their literary ambitions.
I work with students who need to improve their creative writing as part of their school work but also for those aspiring writers who want to be novelists or poets or screenwriters. I design a tailored programme to help them stretch their abilities, develop their capacity to master pacing and much more besides.

I have 600+ hours of experience as a tutor, studied English at Oxford, have a Masters in Philosophy and I’m a historical novelist.
I help students at GCSE & A Level who are struggling with humanities subjects ahead of their exams. I have worked with students of all abilities and aptitudes, my priority is making sure they understand the subject, what the work is asking them to provide and can deliver it appropriately.
Most of all, I understand that struggling at school can be frustrating or intimidating so I do my best to ensure that learning feels relaxed and fun.
