I am a university teacher with more than 10 years experience working at the University of Melbourne (Australia). I have a B. A. (Hons) with majors in politics and social theory and studies in economics, history and literature. I am a doctoral candidate in philosophy.

I enjoy working with people on identifying those areas of their English that cause them difficulty and try to play to their strengths with very practical solutions.

I have insight into the most common issues people from Dutch, French, Spanish and Italian background have when they speak English such as shibboleths, false friends, etc.)

I studied and lived (mostly) in Italy until I was 20 years old, then I moved to Copenhagen to continue my education. I am an Italian native speaker, and I use English in my daily personal and working life.

Talking to someone is the best way you can practice new languages. When I was a teenager I moved to Canada for six months to learn English, and even if I struggled at the beginning, pushing myself to have crooked conversation with friends was the perfect way to start mastering the language.

After completing my studies, I spent two decades in Asia, primarily in Greater China. Now back "home", as a full time dad of two princesses who have Chinese heritage, communicating in various languages - sometimes in one sentence - is just part of our day.

With hands-on teaching experience in China, the UK, and Belgium, I adopt an engaging and intuitive approach to language learning. I tutor English, French, and Mandarin Chinese, applying the same creativity I used in my past career, which involved leading teams, crafting brand stories, and working across cultures.
