I make the difference by understanding that student success is also my responsibility as a tutor. This is why I put in an extra effort which exceeds conveying the knowledge about how a given math problem works. As a consequence my students enjoy our lessons on top of progressing academically.

I teach Math and German up to the last year of Secondary School. I work with teenagers and adults alike. You can rely on me in any situation, may it be an emergency or an exam where you first need to set up a plan, we can work it out together following my structured approach I developed by teaching over 1500 lessons.

My experience and a great sense for what my students need, make my classes effective and focused. I am very strong at motivating my students to achieve their goals, supporting and fostering a positive mindset towards any subject or task.

About Me

I am 32 years old and I hold a BA degree in Economics from the University of Zurich. I speak five different languages, some of which I have learnt in my exchange programmes around the world. I am deeply interested in learning itself, this is probably the reason why I founded my first tutoring school at the age of 22 and my second one at the age of 26. I have sold the school before moving to Lausanne, because Lausanne is such a beautiful place to live and be. I live here with my Partner Jenny and apart from Tutoring I work on my newest project called "wisy". It's a software that makes learning visible and shows progress students, classes or even schools make over time. I like to read a lot and my favourite authors are Alan Watts, Gregory Bateson and Christopher Alexander. Oh, and I like photographs! Making photographs myself and looking at others works is both inspiring to me.

You can book a complete course with regular sessions or individual lessons to overcome a specific problem, such as pronunciation or a particular point in grammar.

Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.

When it comes to the alphabet, words and sentences, it's more or less the same, but school pedagogy, school textbooks and regular lessons still follow the rote learning approach. In the lessons I propose, you will learn to use patterns because this is more efficient and faster.

Learning is easy, but unlearning bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible.

My offer is aimed at both young people and adults who want to learn German or improve their knowledge without wasting time on nonsensical school methods.

I offer individual or group lessons for German. The methods are based on cognitive science and, in particular, comparative linguistics. My flexible programme can be tailored to your individual needs. The programme focuses on your independence in spontaneous conversations in real life.
