Why not learn learn two things at once? I offer guitar tutoring IN English! Why Guitar AND English? There is a growing body of research that promotes the benefits of combining musical practice with learning a language. Playing an instrument develops the brain's ability to process sounds and rhythm, improves memory through the retention of chords, notes and lyrics, and requires discipline and motivation to keep going. All of these support language learning. Why me? I am a qualified CELTA English teacher with 15 years experience in education, as well as a lifetime of playing guitar. I have performed live in bands and community groups, and delivered guitar and music therapy sessions throughout my career. What Will You Learn? I will build a programme around your musical goals and your favourite artists and styles so that the lessons are as fun and enjoyable for you as possible. Depending on your musical goals and ability, the lessons range from very the basics of how to look after and maintain your instrument, through to playing some of your favourite songs and melodies. I can cover useful playing techniques, warm up exercises and alternative ways to tune your instrument, as well as how to read and understand tablature. For those looking to advance their playing, we can work towards keys, scales and solos, or how to play in a variety of musical styles. By teaching in English, I will help you to build your vocabulary, pronunciation, and confidence in speaking the language, all while learning how to play your favourite songs in a fun and relaxing environment. If you're interested in guitar and building your English skills, get in touch!

Hello, my name is Daniela. I'm seventeen years old, being born January 6, 2009. I have been learning English for fifteen years, and ever since I have found it as an amazing tool to discover new interests and cultures across barriers. I currently study in an international school, which means I learn all my material in English As a teacher, I would like to help my students grow their interest in English and reach a level where they find theirselves comfortable speaking the language. I know learning languages is really tricky, but it can be easier with the right approach. I have never tutored before, but I already have a few ideas in mind on how to work in my students. An ideal class for me would be - Spending the first ten minutes talking about the student's news and how they're doing at school. I also consider mental health really important and I would love to be a support figure for my student. During these ten minutes, I could help the student figure out vocabulary words they don't know, keeping a "Vocabulary notebook" for new words learnt in the class. - After the icebreaking session, we would work on the material the student is learning in class. I would like to recieve it in advance so I can work on a mind-map or explanation for the student to understand the concept step-by-step. - If we have time, I would look for listening, reading and writing exercises based on the student's level (A1, A2...) so we can work on it together - To finish, I would reserve 5 minutes so my student can tell me how they feel about the class and what we can change to improve. I will also recommend material in English (books, series...) for the student to engage with in their free time I love teaching English to others, and I will try to make the classes easier and not very heavy. I have studied English in school for a long time, and I have found that English lessons at school are heavily grammar-focused and not very intuitive. I would love my classes to be fun, interactive and entretaining, so my student can associate the language with something fun and comforting, not just a boring subject to study. My classes will be targeted towards primary and secondary school students.

In these classes we focus on unblocking the body to have more energy and develop the relationship between mind and body. These are not fitness classes, the idea is not to sweat or stop thinking but to start directing attention towards the development of self-observation to live lifeore wholly In these sessions we focus on the physical aspect of yoga, which is called asana. Asana literally means "seat", so the purpose of the classes is to practice achieving a state of stillness and comfort, both physically and mentally. Traditionally, this practice was done to develop the ability to sit comfortably in a posture for an extended period of time to meditate. In the 90 min classes we end with a body consciousness practice that helps the body understand that it can be relaxed and attentive at the same time. This part is done lying on a yoga mat or rug and one tends to lose body heat. If you tend to be cold, I recommend using a blanket and comfortable, warm clothing. We will co-create the classes. What I know and what your body needs must go hand in hand. It is very important that you notify me of medical, physical and psychological conditions that you have and have had. Nobody knows your body better than you. If you feel the call, don't hesitate! Yoga is a philosophy and discipline originating in India, where it is understood as the science of good living. The word comes from the Sanskrit "yug" which means to unite, and the different physical, mental and emotional practices that compose it have the purpose of uniting individual consciousness with universal consciousness through mastery of body and mind.
