Creative/ Drama Writing Tuition (available to students of any experience level)
From 41.57 € /h
Is there an idea you can't quite get off the ground, or are you curious about how to foster an underlying voice? I'm proud to offer tuition in the realm of creative writing, be it for the page, stage or screen, to people at all stages of their artistic journey. My personal tuition philosophy means that every session is curated for your individual needs and interests, and I will consistently request feedback to ensure no time is wasted on material you don't find enriching. After graduating from the University of Warwick with a first class degree in English and Theatre, and securing one of eight places for writers at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School this year, I want to extend my passion into helping others discover their linguistic flair; tackling the whole spectrum from crafting character, to constructing dialogue and beyond. I've written a dozen plays in the last year alone, so consider myself well acquainted with the pitfalls and complex methodologies of this often tricky art. I hope to use these classes to help you develop more reliable writing practices and overcome the dreaded writer's block once and for all.

About Me
I am a playwright from South Wales, currently located in Bristol. My subject is not only a vocation, but a lifelong passion, and I feel it is imperative to offer help within this field to the young people who require it as part of their educational journey. In my method, every student is approached as a complex, autonomous individual, and it is my job to curate a personal lesson plan that best fits their needs. As well as addressing the basics of essay writing, comprehension and language analysis, it is also my hope to foster a genuine interest in the set texts of the syllabus where perhaps there was not one before.
Education
I have a first class BA in English and Theatre studies from the University of Warwick, and am currently studying my for my Masters at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Additionally, I possess five A-Levels (all grade A or higher under the Welsh grading system), and 14 GCSES. I have trained with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, and completed a foundation year at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. I also possess a diploma from LAMDA.
Experience / Qualifications
I have tutored private clients successfully since the age of 18, and continued to do so during my time at University. During my second year, I taught in a centre outside Birmingham for young boys permanently excluded from the public teaching system.

As a graduate of the University of Warwick, I am proud to offer excellent quality tuition in both English Language and Literature at all key stages. I tailor my lesson plan and educational approach to every individual student, ensuring that each receives a session curated for their needs. I specialise in early modern texts, specifically Shakespeare, but can cover any texts on today's syllabus more than comfortably, encouraging my students to develop their own understanding and personal interpretations, then helping them translate these into the essay-question format eloquently. My creative writing is ratified to a professional standard by the Old Vic Theatre school, a worldwide recognised institution where I currently study alongside just seven other writers. I can comfortably tutor all aspects of the English Language course, including descriptive/creative writing, formal writing, travel writing and comprehension.
