Trusted teacher: "I still remember the first time I heard the sounds of a harp, when I was 8, my grandparents took me to a concert in the little church in Gosselies. To pinch the strings, I was kidnapped by the magic sound that came from the heart of the woods. The longer the concert went on, the closer I got to the harp ... After harassing my parents for a year, I started To study this magnificent instrument, it immediately became a sacred object for me, and thanks to him, I could communicate my feelings, laugh, relax and find the desired balance. " My courses are based on the Irish teaching method so first of all to the ear, on the resources that the student has in himself and on the fact that one learns while having fun. I propose a harp lesson: - Medieval dedicated to teenagers and adults for false beginner and intermediate based on medieval music and rebirth, improvisation, arrangement of melodies, ... - Celtic for all ages from 14 to 70 years, beginner level, false beginner, intermediate and intermediate / advanced based on Celtic repertoire and Irish, Scottish and Breton techniques After a few lessons, the neo-harpists will play short and simple melodies until the end of the journey to play more complete melodies that provide accompaniment and use of both hands. Lessons are defined on the learning needs of individual students. Even if I use the Irish teaching method, I will provide the basis for reading the pentagram, for the integration of rhythm, the foundations of harmony so that the student can read a piece of music independently. I live in Italy, so I come back to Belgium about once a month for face-to-face lessons (duration of face-to-face lesson: 90 minutes). Next dates for face-to-face courses in Belgium: December 23, 26, 28, 29 For Skype lessons (3-4x per month, lesson duration 60 minutes) see typical week. Do not hesitate to write to me.

Regardless of your level, my harp and music lessons are designed for you. I am a passionate teacher with over 10 years of experience in teaching the harp, music theory, and music education at various levels, from children to adults. I love creating a positive learning atmosphere, allowing the student to feel comfortable and motivated, whether they are a beginner or an advanced musician. Each student will have their own customized study method to progress at their own pace, and I listen carefully to every request to nurture their natural attitude for learning. I pay special attention to the student's preferences in terms of repertoire and goals, even arranging some musical scores that may not have been initially intended for the harp. These lessons are suitable for both amateurs and professional musicians, whether they are young or adults. You don't need to know how to read music (music notation and solfège) or have played an instrument before to learn how to play the harp. My method is organized so that theory is learned through practice. You will quickly discover that the harp, contrary to what one might think, is a very easy instrument to play! Medieval, folk and Celtic harp lessons (Floreffe)
As i am just about to start harp lessons, we had a first ''lesson' in which Mélanie advised me extensively about the types of harps that I should consider getting/renting,and explained her pedagogy and the type of music she specializes in, which is exactly what I would like to take up. She explained some aspects of the repertoire (such as the fact that for older music we often have only a melody line surviving, so the accompaniment involves improvisation). She is extremely friendly and helpful, organized and clearly at home with teaching online, which she had been doing in part before the lockdown. I look forward to having the first 'real' lesson once I have a harp to play on.

Harp and Music Lessons for adults and children / Cours de Harpe et Musique pour adultes et enfants (Kraainem)
I enjoyed my first lessons. It was both very practical since I learned a lot about the technical aspect of playing an instrument (hand positioning, body posture, etc.) and about the history of harp. The teacher also gave me advice regarding buying my own harp. She was very attentive and paid attention to my every movement, to make sure that I played it all correctly. I am looking forward to having more lessons

Private lessons of Harp, Piano and Music theory for beginners and advanced (Saint-Josse-ten-Noode)
A very great first encounter with Norma and the harp as a new instrument for me! Norma has been absolutely spot on in understanding and responding to my very specific personal musical wishes. We agreed on a plan forward that is adapted to my needs. I am all over the moon and can’t wait to start my lessons with her!
