I support students in developing strong, competitive portfolios for university applications and professional roles, with clear guidance on concept development, editing, and presentation aligned with current academic and industry expectations. My professional work includes designing and dressing international artists such as Björk, Lady Gaga, Grimes, Kylie Jenner, Megan Thee Stallion, Rina Sawayama, and Post Malone for performances, editorials, and public appearances. This experience gives students direct insight into professional standards, timelines, and the realities of working under pressure within the fashion industry. My technical foundation is shaped by experience in couture and luxury fashion environments including Viktor&Rolf, Givenchy, Balmain, and bespoke tailoring ateliers. My teaching covers draping, pattern making, sewing, and hand-based construction techniques, with a strong focus on fit, proportion, and translating ideas into technically resolved garments. I offer targeted guidance on what universities are looking for at foundation, BA, and MA level: from creative curiosity and process at foundation stage, to technical skill, concept development, and visual clarity at BA level, through to research depth, authorship, and critical positioning at MA level. I work closely with students to ensure their portfolios clearly communicate both creative identity and readiness for academic or professional progression. I am fluent in German and, with formal training in painting, can also support students in developing visual research, composition, and fine art–led portfolio work where relevant.

This mentoring program is designed for artists, designers, photographers, fashion professionals and creative practitioners who want to strengthen their portfolio, CV and project presentation materials. Whether you are applying for a university program, master's degree, residency, grant, award, exhibition opportunity or professional position, we will work together to develop a clear and compelling presentation of your work. Sessions are highly practical and tailored to your specific goals. We can review and improve portfolios, artist statements, project dossiers, CVs, motivation letters and application materials. We can also work on project development itself, helping you select the most relevant works, strengthen concepts, improve feasibility and highlight research, process and contextual references. The mentoring process can also help identify strengths, gaps and future development opportunities, providing a clearer direction for your professional growth. Meaningful results can often be achieved in as few as three sessions. After our first meeting, we will define the most effective path based on your objectives and current materials.

Fashion design can feel overwhelming when you are trying to build a portfolio, apply to university, improve your fashion projects or create your own collection. You may have strong ideas, but not know how to turn them into clear research, professional drawings, a commercial range or work that looks ready for the fashion industry. I am an industry fashion designer with experience across womenswear, youthwear, jersey, leisurewear, casualwear, partywear, graphics, product development and commercial collection building. I currently work in supplier-side fashion design, developing trend-led product for major high-street retail. I have also worked across girlswear, boyswear, menswear, luxury swimwear and private luxury collection development for high-profile clients. In these lessons, I can help you understand how fashion design works in the real industry. We can work on portfolio development, university portfolio preparation, trend research, customer research, mood boards, colour palettes, fabric direction, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, CADs, technical fashion drawings, range building, tech packs and final presentation. I can also help you build your own commercial fashion design collection from concept to final outcome. This includes understanding your target customer, developing a strong design direction, creating a balanced range, refining silhouettes, choosing colours and fabrics, and presenting your work in a way that feels polished, current and professional. My main specialism is womenswear and youth-market fashion, especially trend-led product for teenage to young adult customers. I can also support projects across girlswear, boyswear, menswear and swimwear, helping you understand how design changes depending on age range, customer, fit, fabric, price point and brand direction. My teaching style is friendly, practical and honest. We will look at your current level, your goals and what your work needs in order to improve. The aim is to help you gain confidence, develop stronger ideas and create fashion work that feels ready for university, internships, placements, graduate roles or your own brand.
