About Me

Over time I developed an endless passion for music and teaching. I have been teaching accordion at a public music school since 1995. Teaching music has always been important to me. Getting the kids excited about music with the right methodology was and is a big challenge for me.
For about 11 years I have been teaching all types of accordion, such as diatonic, chromatic, piano accordion, even at pre-school age, and I led an accordion orchestra. At the Music Academy in Ljubljana I completed a master's degree in classical concert accordion and a bachelor's degree in harpsichord.
I also completed my diploma in audio engineering at the SAE Institute.

Since 2015 I have been continuing my master's degree in harpsichord - concert subject with Prof. Wolfgang Glüxam and organ - concert subject with Prof. Wolfgang Capek at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. On October 28th, 2021 I successfully completed my master’s degree in Prof. Céline Frisch’s class.

As an accordionist and music producer, I have recorded several CDs of my own musical arrangements in Slovenia. I have played in various concert halls and been a guest on radio and television in Slovenia, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. I am now working as a concert accordionist, harpsichordist, organist and chamber musician.

Experience / Qualifications

The universal musician Mirco is a specialist for all keyboard instruments in different stylistic epochs. He studied accordion, harpsichord and church music at the Music Academy in Ljubljana. In 2015 he completed his master's degree in accordion (Ljubljana) and in 2021 his master's degree in harpsichord (Vienna). He graduated in audio engineering from the Sae Institute (Amsterdam). As a music teacher, he and his students achieved numerous first places in music competitions at home and abroad. He began his organ studies in Ljubljana with Prof. Mario Perestegi and in Vienna with Prof. Michael Stephanides. He studied organ in Vienna with Prof. Wolfgang Capek and harpsichord in Ljubljana with Prof. Egon Mihajlović and in Vienna with Prof. Wolfgang Glüxam and Prof. Céline Frisch at the University of Music and Performing Arts. Mirco works as a soloist and chamber musician in many genres.

Our classes take place by several platforms as Google Meet or Skype, but if you feel more comfortable with others we are also open to suggestions. Our Professional Studios are set with 2 video cameras, so you can see us perfectly and also hear us perfectly with a studio microphone. Do not worry about your settings, as long as you have a stable connection this is all what we need.

Why online classes? We think online classes are a valid asset for the future. Students learn comfortably from their homes and the education that they receive is proved to have the same validity as in person lessons, if performed with the right means and the right method, obviously! This is what we have been researching and testing for the past 5 years. So far, we have reached a 90% of students that actually got top results at ABRSM examinations by being prepared exclusively online by us.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts.

Even though music is universal, specific terms and method learning differ from one culture and another one. This is why I propose some individual courses of music and piano for people curions about discovering or maybe improving their artistic skills in the language of Moliere.

At the beginning of the lesson, the student will be trained by some theory, not the best part for most people. But with the help of mnemotechnic methods, those basics won't have a secret for him/her anymore ;)

I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard.

My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student.

Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you.

A bit about me:

Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. The video shown below is from my stint playing and directing 'After Midnight', a show set to the music of the Duke Ellington Big Band.
