Hello, I'm a Vienna-based English, Italian, and Serbian tutor! I learned English in elementary and secondary school, as well as in university. I'll assess your level of knowledge during our first class and adjust my teaching to make sure you can progress and not be completely overwhelmed. I studied literature and political science so I have pretty good knowledge of terminology in English in those two areas. I'll make sure to keep you entertained outside of classes with a little but of homework, not too much:) I'll try to give you regular feedback on your progress and maybe suggest you to work on some of your weaknesses -- if I find that you struggle with something in particular!

I'm very patient and easygoing teacher. When I teach I put emphasis on whatever I feel that student is struggling with, whether it be reading, speaking, or writing! I'm engaged and I really care about seeing the progress in my students. I make sure that classes are interesting, fun, and adapted for student's language level.

Education

I studied Literature and Philosophy as a Bachelor in Rome. Then I moved to Barcelona where I studied a Master's in International Relations. I'm currently working on my thesis so I can graduate in March, and I'm doing an internship in a human rights NGO here in Vienna.

My experience with giving language lessons was in Rome at my university where I coached students for English exams. Many of them were struggling with the pronunciation -- English being so different to Italian! I enjoyed teaching and transferring knowledge to my students and really hope to get a chance to repeat that experience!

I gave private tutoring for a long time during university.
As a student of human rights and then as a project worker
I have already given language courses for refugees so that they can study successfully. (Learning buddy program: Start with a friend).

Now I teach my native language in Vienna. After my work as a project worker, I was an intern at the Advocacy Section of the United Nations where I was responsible for translations on a daily basis.

I’m a American from Pennsylvania. I’ve lived in North Carolina, Washington DC, and New York. I graduated from Duke University in 2015. I spent 3 years in the commercial real estate industry and then one year in the classroom teaching history in Brooklyn.

Currently, I’m a masters student at UW in Vergleichende Literaturwissenschaft. I completed a degree in Romance Languages at Duke University (currently ranked 10th in the US and 25th in the world, depending on which ranking you adhere to). German B1 is the preparation in German for the ÖSD and ÖIF B1 exam. There is a textbook included
12 lessons and 4-5 participants can take part in the course. The course can also be completed alone
and generally take place with me.
Course duration is usually 2.5 months. There is a course confirmation.

Courses from A1-C2 can be taken.

There are also language courses in French and English.
