My name is Tommie. I was born and raised in the UK and moved to Finland 5 years ago to pursue my master’s degree in music. I hold over 10 years' experience teaching English, during which time I've had dozens of private students across all ages. I'm a published writer and music journalist with a background in academic writing and proof-reading. I’m also a competent Finnish speaker, which can be especially useful to identify tell-tale Finnish patterns of speech.

Perhaps you want to strengthen your grasp of English grammar, or expand your vocabulary. You may even want to just get more comfortable speaking. With over 3 years of teaching experience, a CPE certificate, and CELTA training in progress, I focus on helping learners gain confidence in both conversation and academic communication. We’ll work on speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, and writing, using real-life topics and texts.

Before I began writing professionally, I spent over three years traveling across Europe, which gave me a deep understanding of how English functions in real-world, multicultural settings. Now, as a writer working on a book and articles, and with a background in philosophy and literature, I bring global perspective, depth, and creativity to our lessons.
