Oustide of teaching, I am a poet, theatre maker, facilitator and play therapist. This helps me to keep lessons engaging and fun. My teaching begins with a good relationship with the student. I also offer classes in drama and creative writing, to adults as well as young people.

O (16) and A (14) 2021-2022 (Maths and English GCSE)

I home schooled O for one academic year, working on English and Maths GCSE. O has ASD and needed to work with a tutor with experience adapting to his particular learning needs. I worked with O for 12 hours each week. The role required adaptability to the family's schedules and O's varying ability to engage with the work.

I now work with O's sister A on maths. A was 14 when we worked together and I was able to help her to plug gaps in her maths knowledge.

I’m Sean, an experienced tutor with 13 years of experience specialising in GCSE and IB preparation for students of all neurotypes. I hold an MA (Oxon) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University, an MFA in Creative Writing from St Andrews, and an English Literature Diploma from Birkbeck, University of London.
Based in Berlin for over three years, I work extensively with international school families, helping students navigate transitions to UK sixth forms and universities. I also work as a play therapist and theatre practitioner, which informs my creative, engaging approach to learning.
