I am an experienced guitar tutor teaching lessons face-to-face and online. I also cater to groups. I have been a musician for over 20 years and have been teaching guitar for over 10 years, giving me a vast range of knowledge, teaching methodologies, and learning resources.

This class is specific to children as it fosters a love of music and music creation via easy-to-learn and play tunes, notation reading and developing ear skills. Learning music and guitar at a young age is a wonderful way to learn a new skill which boosts confidence, teaches effort and rewards relationships, creates discipline, and helps children take pride in their achievements and performances.

We will learn the fundamentals of playing the guitar, focusing on developing good techniques across both the left and right hand enabling faster growth and easier self-directed study. We will learn a selection of short tunes/melodies, chords and some sight reading. Grades are an option for those interested but my main aim is to bring the joy of guitar to the lessons! Hi - my name is Ricardo and I've been teaching guitar for nearly 11 years (started August 2014).

I love music and I love the guitar, and I hope to use this love to inspire creativity and skill in children and adults. I teach acoustic and electric guitar - they're not as different as you'd think! I teach the fundamentals of the guitar as a solo and ensemble instrument, breaking down its construction and capabilities so you can understand its harmonic qualities and melodic opportunities. It is a unique instrument in that it can play lead lines and chords simultaneously which offer a huge range of fluidity of performance and variety of emotions. These foundations can be taken in all directions developing across styles through students' individual inspirations.

I have a range of resources to assist my lessons, so however you learn (visual, auditory, kinaesthetic) I will be able to maximise your progress both in lessons and at home. I am gentle and patient and whether you are a total beginner or an advanced player I will be able to expand on your musical knowledge and ability.

I teach face to face and online. I taught hundreds (maybe more than a thousand?!?) of lessons online during Covid so I've gotten pretty good at it - giving us options if you're not local or an international! Please get in touch for arrangements.

I have taught students from as young as 6, up to adults aged 62 privately and for a number of music hubs/services. I am a qualified teacher (ECT) which gives me further insight into cognitive behaviour and how to get the most out of human learning.

My approach to music tuition leans heavily on my own musical journey, best described as a mixture of inspiration, self-empowerment, focus and dedication. I want to make guitar playing accessible for all ages, genders, identities and backgrounds, to become a part of their own life stories.

I have an up-to-date- DBS and hold a full driver's license with no points.

For older beginners and adults, I offer fun and information-rich lessons on what the guitar is and how to play it, along with how to get the most from your practice time. What can be seen as an insurmountable task is broken down into easy-to-follow steps grounded in whichever genre you're interested in exploring. On both electric or acoustic we'll cover the fundamentals of good playing technique, how to teach yourself songs, chord shapes and common scales, as well as rhythm and timekeeping. As a pianist, musicologist and composer, I am passionate about music and I tend to cover the maximum amount of subjects inside music in my lessons. I don’t only teach how to play piano, but I explain, in the most suitable way for my students, how music works, the theory of music, how to create music and your own songs, where do concepts come from, the relationship between intervals and harmonies, etc.

I am a professional musician and educator, with international experience as a Violin/Viola/
Chamber Music/Theory teacher, soloist, orchestra leader, chamber musician, and jury
member.
I have graduated in Violin at the Conservatory of Music "G.P. da Palestrina" of Cagliari-
Italy and in Viola at the Conservatory of Music "G. Verdi" of Milan-Italy.
My professional activity led me to work in several orchestras as performer, and in various
music schools as upper- string and chamber music teacher.
I lived and worked in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and since 2012 I made
London my home, where I developed further teaching experience within the British
system.
I have also founded "The Geminiani Project" of which I am
the director and the leader of the Camerata Geminiani, ensemble that has been invited to
perform in England, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, Denmark, and Sweden.
At the same time I have established my ensemble, I have also launched the Geminiani
Youth Orchestra (formed by young musicians aged 6 to 17 years old) as I believe in the
importance of giving an opportunity to young players to perform together, and the
amateur ensemble Hampton Chamber Orchestra; we performed with both orchestras at
various venues in London.
Regarding my teaching technique, I believe that each student is different and unique, so
the first thing I try to do is to establish a connection, then I try to understand the major
skills and major difficulties of the student in order to develop a personalised system; I pay
much importance also to the emotional aspect the student is dealing with in order to build
passion and love for music.
I strongly believe that, once achieved a technical skill, the student must have the chance to
play with the teacher and with other students, and feel the excitement of making music
together.
I have experience in preparing students for auditions, competitions, or ABRSM/Trinity
exams with excellent results; I love what I do and I love to see my pupils achieving high
level results.

Hi!

I’m Paloma, I’m a film and videogame music composer, pianist and violist. I give classes in music language, music theory, harmony, and composition from classical to film, piano, and viola. My students are any age, any level from beginner to advanced. I will help with exams, GCSE, and A-Levels, as well as help students obtain their grade 5 theory to advance and take higher grades in composition or viola.

I started teaching when I was 17 years old. While I was studying viola and composition I would help colleagues learn Harmonic Theory for University exams or just for fun. Whilst studying, in order to support my learning abroad, I started teaching children and teenagers. The classes included a wide variety, from; supporting their studies during the school year, to their first approaches to music as well as nurturing love and excitement for playing and making music. After University I continued giving classes during the last few years.

The compositional strand of training if a student wishes to undergo it has many elements we will learn the theory needed to competently make music learn systems that allow us to break down composition as well as multiple genres. work they can do by themselves at their own pace, allowing each student to work and grow at a rate suited to their ability.
-Building a strong understanding of melodies and chords and how different instruments work and support each other.
-If they are studying in a formal educational establishment, they will receive support and guidance in regard to their work and exams.

When I am giving classes in music language, viola, piano... to children, I always try that the classes will be dynamic but at the same time incorporate a little bit of Theory. I utilised exercises that are designed to engage young developmental minds, like those you’d find on a children’s show. For example, singing, playing... songs allows us to train the ears and help them to begin to recognise the different registers, notes, rhythms and tempo. This was done alongside training on their chosen instruments, my aim was and is to nurture a language of music as well as give them practical skills and exercises they can do on their own. I play the piano and viola, so I always try to support them.

When it comes to classes for teenagers I teach them theory and practice as well as strong fundamentals but I also allow time to let them lead their learning to give them more agency, allow them to learn their favourite /contemporary songs. This keeps the passion for music alive. With teenagers, my approach centres on elevating and reinforcing what they learn from school using exercises and providing tools to break down ideas musically. In addition, I also prepare for GCSE and A-levels.

Lessons will follow a path of progression, teaching them how to approach the next levels of theoretical and practical competence. Allowing the students to understand their Progression and their path forward increases the likelihood they will continue studying.

Lessons are flexible, and curated on a student-to-student basis as well as making sure to incorporate what I believe they need to achieve the next level. This involves; practical music training, ear training, building on theoretical knowledge, as well as learning songs they love to ensure they feel fulfilled and have fun with music.

Hello! I’m Francesco but all my students call me Frankie.
I’ve been playing drums and guitar since I was 15 years old living in Venezuela. I continued my studies in an American college for a year, to then decide to get my bachelors degree in Italy; a school called MAEurope (or currently Music Academy), affiliated with Middlesex, ACM and LAMA. After getting my B.A. Degree I moved to London where I continued to teach with a couple of agencies and play as a session musician for a couple of acts.
I’ve been teaching since I was 22 years old in the same school I was getting my B.A. Degree: MAEurope. My first class ever were a group of 6-years old kids; lucky me ha? Well, they were great! The main challenge of having such a young age class was to keep them entertained and not loose focus. This situation gave me the tools to create my own way of teaching which is usually laid back, fun and not with a “school” approach towards the student. The kids don’t even realize they are learning until they actually get home and know how to play the instrument! Especially with young students. it is important to make the lessons fun and not tedious as this experience sets the way the student will look at the instrument for the rest of their lives: boring classes = boring instrument.
These tools are good for adults too. I won’t use childish games, of course; but the ability to keep the lesson fluent and entertaining is one of my priorities.
