My passion in life is to see children enjoy learning! My training in the Montessori method of education has given me the ability to help children do just that! I tutor children ages 5-9 using the Montessori method in the areas of math and language arts. I offer in-person classes using my Montessori materials or virtual Facetime sessions using your own Montessori materials. (You can order your own set of "paper" Montessori materials from Etsy or traditional wooden materials from many reputable Montessori companies.)

If you choose the Facetime option, once we determine what Montessori materials are needed, I can suggest a few Montessori companies from which you could purchase "paper materials" or "traditional wooden materials."

About Me

I truly enjoy children! In 1988, when I finished highschool, I began working as an assistant in a Montessori school. Up to this point in my life, I had not been exposed to the Montessori method. I was blown away! I couldn't believe the joy and independence that I saw in these children as they worked with the hands-on materials! This joy inspired me to go to school to become a Montessori teacher! As I studied the method and worked with the materials, the language arts, math, geography, and science concepts that I had learned in elementary & highschool became clearer! It became my passion in life to pass this understanding onto my students, so they could find joy in learning too!
Over the years, I have been given the opportunity to teach several different age groups, spanning ages 2-12. I have worked as an assistant, a teacher, a school owner, a consultant, and a tutor. To further prepare myself for tutoring, I completed training through CHADD, which helps me to better understand my students who have ADHD. I also completed 4 trainings through Lindamood-Bell that have given me a greater ability to be able to help my students who are struggling in the areas of math & language arts.
I tutor 1 on 1 over FaceTime and in-person. The pandemic opened up the path to tutoring over FaceTime. I've come to thoroughly enjoy getting to know my students in this new way! I've even had the opportunity to teach students in far away places such as South America!
