Trusted teacher: Maths, Physics & Chemistry Tutor – Learn with Understanding, Not Just for Exams For Dutch, IB, British, and International Curricula – Taught in English Hi! I’m a PhD graduate in Materials Engineering with a strong foundation in maths, physics, and chemistry — subjects I’ve not only excelled in throughout my academic journey but have come to deeply enjoy. My research focused on semiconductors and materials science, and I bring that real-world scientific experience into every lesson I teach. I offer tutoring for students across various school systems in the Netherlands — including Dutch (VMBO, HAVO, VWO), IB, British (IGCSE, A-Levels), and international programs — at both secondary and early university levels. But here’s the thing: I don’t believe in just “getting through the syllabus.” I believe in making these subjects meaningful and intuitive. Whether it’s why equations really work, or how chemistry shapes the world around us, I focus on building real understanding — the kind that sticks and inspires. I love teaching. I do this because it’s genuinely exciting to help students unlock difficult concepts and feel confident. You won’t just hear “this is how it’s done” — we’ll figure out why it works, where it applies in real life, and how to think like a problem-solver. I learn alongside you too — every student brings a new perspective, and that keeps things dynamic. Whether you’re struggling, aiming for top grades, or just want to feel more connected to these subjects, I’m here to help — with patience, clarity, and curiosity. Let’s make learning a little more exciting, and a lot more meaningful.

Trusted teacher: Starting an instrument, getting back into it, deepening your practice or preparing for a competition... Each student has their own unique background, their own sensibilities, and their own goals. My teaching adapts to all profiles, with rigor and kindness, in a relationship of trust and shared curiosity. These classes are aimed at both children and adults, beginners and advanced students, amateurs and musicians in pre-professional or higher education programs. I also support people with disabilities: each learning experience is unique and deserves to be built from who you are. 🌿 What I propose: - Work possible by ear or from the score, according to your preferences - Varied repertoires: classical, contemporary, traditional music, accompaniment, creation... - Work on gesture, sound, listening and posture - A teaching method tailored to your operation: no single method, but a tailor-made approach ✨ For what purpose? - Discover the harp, whatever your age - Resume or deepen your practice - Prepare for an audition, a competition, an exam - Explore a new repertoire or develop a personal project - Work at your own pace, flexibly, without unnecessary pressure 🎓 About me A graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, I was trained by numerous professors in very diverse contexts, which allowed me to develop an open and adaptable approach. As a performer, I have played in major orchestras under the direction of renowned conductors, and participated in a wide variety of chamber music and contemporary creation projects. I have been teaching private lessons, workshops, conservatories and masterclasses for several years, with a wide variety of students: from curious beginners to musicians preparing for a prestigious competition.

Trusted teacher: The current context requires us to have as little contact as possible... But the good news is that webcam lessons remain possible :) I come from Costa Rica and have lived in Belgium with my family for 10 years. Spanish is my mother tongue. I have a solid professional experience in the private, public and associative sector. I juggle with different methodologies depending on the context of the course and especially the objectives to be achieved. I taught at the university, at Ifapme, in the associative sector (training and remediation), within companies as well as to individuals with very different objectives such as studies, a move to Spain, a travel to Latin America or simply learning a new language for fun or sharing and improving knowledge in the context of group conversation tables for example... In any case, I manage to awaken the motivation and interest of my students thanks to a dynamic, creative and communicative approach. I am available weekdays and weekends, daytime and evenings. I can give private lessons to primary and secondary school students, to high school and university students and to professionals, beginners to very advanced, intensively or not, privately or in groups. I have a master's degree in economic and social planning with an emphasis on project management as well as a bachelor's degree in administration (National University of Costa Rica). The transmission of knowledge has always been my passion. I had the opportunity to teach on several occasions throughout my career: in universities, in associations, within companies or even in private homes. And like everyone else, I had to adapt to the current situation... by giving online lessons! My career : - November 2016 - current: Freelance intra-company Spanish language trainer - member of the team of language trainers at IFAPME Liège-Huy-Waremme - January 2018 - current: Project manager at Aquilone asbl - intercultural center in Liège - January 2016 – current: Spanish teacher at Rem'aide asbl (primary, secondary and high school) in Liège + private lessons at home - January 2016 - current: Animator of conversation tables at the Librairie Tous Directions (Liège) - November 2015 – current: Independent sworn translator, at the Court of First Instance of Liège (sworn and free French-Spanish translations for individuals and companies) - February 14 - May 2015: Conversation table facilitator in Spanish at Action Langues Verviers + private lessons - January 2010 - June 2012: Professor at the National University of Costa Rica (courses taught: social communication, planning theory, diagnosis and planning, project formulation) and internship tutor: local development projects - January 2010 - June 2012: Responsible for virtual communication and development at the National University of Costa Rica - September 2011 to April 2012: Professor at the University of Science and Art (Courses: administration and foundations of microeconomics) - January 2006 - May 2012: Co-founder, festival director and trainer at the Horizonte Verde Costa Rica Association (training on environmental protection for groups of children, adolescents and adults, support in their initiatives) - July 1997 - May 2012: Head of production of the Audio-visual Unit of the Judicial School of the Ministry of Justice (production of informative and educational videos)

Yana

rating green star
Yana is very sweet and is always willing to listen to your doubts and difficulties. I have only taken 2 classes so far. The learning process is slow if you really want to improve your technique. If you are looking to learn everything in one class, this is not the place. The only downside is the pricing on Apprentus fees, which seems a bit steep to me and teachers only get a cut.

1st Lesson with Maria and I am delighted. She understood my needs and the lesson was designed for me, she was not just following a "standard" curriculum. An extremely positive person with a very pleasant teaching/coaching style, thank you very much. A
