-VALUES: Analysis of light and shadows, perception of values, differentiation of contours for a realistic rendering of volumes.
- COLOR: Perception, color analysis.

The different techniques and topics covered are:
-Drawing in graphite, charcoal... -
The painter's materials (colors, binders, mediums, brushes), the limited palette (learning to master his colors and mixtures), the progression of the work (from the sketch to the grisaille to the finish), alla prima technique (paint in the cool) ...
