Graphic design, painting, and drawing each offer unique ways to bring your creative ideas to life. In this course, you’ll explore a range of graphic design techniques—from working with typography and layout to image manipulation and visual storytelling—to refine your skills and enhance your artwork. You’ll also learn essential painting and drawing techniques, such as blending, layering, and texture-building, as well as composition and color theory to create captivating visuals.
Whether you prefer bold digital collages, delicate watercolor washes, or intricate line work, this course will give you the tools to push your artwork further. Hi! I’m Kanesha (she/her), a contemporary artist and graphic designer based in Philadelphia, PA. My work is deeply rooted in social issues—like hate crimes, racial slurs, and discrimination—and I’m passionate about using art as a vehicle for advocacy and change.
As an artist , I’m patient, encouraging, and committed to helping my students find their unique voice. My approach is collaborative and supportive: I love creating a space where we can explore new ideas together, experiment fearlessly, and learn from both successes and mistakes.
I love working with students who are open to exploring the intersection of art and social justice, but I also love helping students simply enjoy the creative process. Whether you’re here to learn graphic design techniques, develop your drawing skills, or dive into digital illustration, I’m here to guide you step by step, making sure you feel supported and inspired along the way.
