I am Maria, and I will happily help you achieve your musical goals, from zero to the top.
I love all student levels, but only towards the CLASSICAL piano, of any eras' works and composers.

Everything goes step by step! Outside the lesson time, I send you lots of short videos to support your practice through the week.

As a result, many of my students have won top prizes at major international competitions, as the IBLA Grand Prize, the Spoleto International Piano Competition, the Bach au Jazz (Lilia Boyadjieva) International Piano Competition and many others. And also, at renown online competitions, as The Royal, the IYMC, the Forte Academy, and many-many others.

I am a very proud piano teacher, as on Jan 11 2026 four young students of mine were awarded by the renown American Competition "The Royal Foundation" and were invited and performed at a Gala at the Carnegie Hall in New York City! Also, these kids were invited to participate to the Juilliard School festival, with masterclass and lessons, a fabulous chance and experience that I wish all young pianists could have!

On Sept 1st 2024 three awarded students of mine were invited to perform at The DiMenna Classical Centre of Music in Manhattan, from another American competition, the International Youth Music Competition.

I wish I can always bring such great opportunities and successes to all of my "piano kids"!

Over the past 20 years, I have had the privilege of teaching students from diverse nationalities and backgrounds. I have worked with students from various schools, including local Hong Kong schools, Hong Kong International School, Kowloon Junior International School, and the French International School etc.

I am adaptable and capable of teaching students with different personalities, whether they are highly energetic or more reserved. My primary goal is to instill a passion for music in the next generation, helping students not only grow as musicians but also as confident performers.

I have guided many students to success in ABRSM exams, from Grade 1 to Grade 8, including the latest online exam format. Doy clases para todos los niveles, desde niños empezando desde cero hasta alumnos que quieren preparar certificaciones en los Conservatorios, pasando por amateurs o simplemente curiosos de cualquier edad.

Creo firmemente en la importancia de saber leer música y esto es exactamente lo que enseño primero, obviamente adaptando el método a la edad de mis alumnos: saber leer música es conocer un lenguaje más, que, si se aprende bien, no se olvida nunca (¡como montar en bicicleta!) y es una riqueza inestimable. Partiendo de ahí enseño la posición de la mano, del brazo y de todo el cuerpo al piano, los fundamentos de la técnica pianística (dando mucha importancia al movimiento percusivo del dedo y a la distribución del peso), la comprensión del lenguaje musical, la expresión de la personalidad a través del teclado, la búsqueda del toque y el conocimiento del repertorio pianístico.

Nuestras clases se centrarán en ti y en tu experiencia musical, si tienes experiencia previa tocando el piano. Si lo está tomando completamente desde cero, también estamos aquí para ayudarlo.

También te ayudaremos a elegir un profesor perfecto para ti en función de tu perfil y de lo que nos cuentas. Él o Ella siempre te estará enseñando, así que no te preocupes, no habrá cambios todo el tiempo.

En nuestra primera clase te mostraremos un poco cómo trabajamos y nuestra plataforma virtual para que puedas acceder a un perfil privado para consultar tus notas semanales de tu profesor, videos y otros contenidos que sean relevantes para ti. Por supuesto, también habrá algo de piano involucrado ;)

El resto de las lecciones se planificarán en función de tu tiempo. Nos centraremos en lo que eres capaz de hacer con el tiempo que tienes. No hay necesidad de estresarse ni apresurarse, queremos que progreses a tu propio ritmo.

Nuestras clases se realizan a través de varias plataformas como Google Meet o Skype, pero si te sientes más cómodo con otras también estamos abiertos a sugerencias. Nuestros Estudios Profesionales están ambientados con 2 cámaras de vídeo, para que puedas vernos perfectamente y también escucharnos perfectamente con un micrófono de estudio. No te preocupes por tu configuración, siempre que tengas una conexión estable, esto es todo lo que necesitamos.

¿Por qué clases en línea? Creemos que las clases online son un activo válido para el futuro. Los alumnos aprenden cómodamente desde casa y está demostrado que la formación que reciben tiene la misma validez que las clases presenciales, si se realiza con los medios adecuados y con el método adecuado, ¡obviamente! Esto es lo que hemos estado investigando y probando durante los últimos 5 años. Hasta ahora, hemos llegado a un 90% de estudiantes que realmente obtuvieron los mejores resultados en los exámenes ABRSM al ser preparados exclusivamente en línea por nosotros.

My name is Aleksandra and I am professional pianist with experience of 20 years playing.
I have received a Master's Degree as a classical pianist in the Music Conservatory “prof. Pancho Vladigerov”, Sofia, Bulgaria. I finished my last two years of education in the Music Conservatory “Luigi Canepa”, Italy, as a part of Erasmus program.
As a soloist and as part of the orchestra I have played concerts and participate in national and international competitions in Bulgaria, Romania, Italy, Russia, Germany, France and Austria. I have won more than 50 awards, including 25th firsts and 2 Grand-Prix.
I greatly appreciate the chance to share my music experience and I care for inspiring love for music. I consider music as a way of expressing, way of creating discipline and improving qualities as a person.

I teach online via Zoom, using software which allows you to see the exact keys I'm playing on my keyboard.

My teaching method is to focus on whatever type of music the student loves most, and to build from there. I believe that many people give up their dream of playing an instrument simply because they aren't inspired enough, so my goal is to instill a love for music, whatever that means personally for each individual student.

Everyone learns differently and has their own pace and rhythm. I have some students who like to have a regular weekly or biweekly lesson, and others who just get in touch once in a while when they have digested the previous lesson and feel ready to build on it. Whatever the case, I am very flexible and we can figure out what works best for you.

A bit about me:

Originally honing my skills on the British jazz scene and holding residencies in restaurants and bars around the country, I then went on to tour the world playing on cruise ships, hotels and festivals. I returned to London to complete my master's in jazz piano at the Guildhall School of Music, and during this time performed regularly at Ronnie Scotts, The Vortex and many other venues across the UK. I then spent two years in South America learning about salsa and Cuban music. I now mainly work as a transcriber, writing sheet music for all instruments including full Big Band scores. I have also worked extensively in musical theatre, most recently as musical director for 'Jersey Boys', and on the first US national tour of 'Summer: the Donna Summer Musical'. The video shown below is from my stint playing and directing 'After Midnight', a show set to the music of the Duke Ellington Big Band.
