I offer personalised Italian Literature lessons for students who want to improve their understanding of literary texts, analysis and written expression. Lessons can include the study of authors and literary movements, text analysis, themes and historical context, essay writing, oral presentations and exam preparation. I adapt each lesson to the student’s level and school programme, helping them develop both stronger analytical skills and greater confidence in expressing their ideas. Hello there, My name is Benjamin and I am a French art historian. My academic training in the English language started at the University of Toronto where I received a BA (summa cum laude) in History of Art and Philosophy. I also hold a Masters from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London in the history of Northern Renaissance art, and a Masters from KU Leuven in Philosophy. I am about to begin a PhD in History of Art and Ideas at the Warburg Institute in London. I am a native speaker/ reader in French. This course is intended for the general student of the humanities, Arts, and Sciences who would like to improve or formalise their written English. This course is focused on academic contexts, and can be tailored to suit your learning needs and level (high school to post-graduate). Everyone is capable of being self-taught, yet one needs to have enough self-confidence to dominate a sense of vulnerability combined with a state of fear fostered by years of self-censorship. Hence the need to find a peer with whom to share his experience and his knowledge to enable a lasting social emulation. The modes of learning and expressions are varied, so I can offer you a personalized study plan adapted to your needs. This course is for anyone who wants to have a global approach to world history (involving multiple subjects simultaneously) in a relaxed atmosphere where everyone will leave with the feeling of having learned something for good. What if human culture is not exclusively human? Zooanthropology, or On Becoming Cultural with Non-human Animals is an introductory 10-lesson course exploring the relationship between humans and other animals and asking a fundamental question: how much of what we call “culture” has actually emerged through our relationships with other species? The course offers a different perspective. Rather than considering culture an exclusively human achievement, zooanthropology understands it as something that has emerged through relationships, encounters and exchanges between species. Other animals are not simply objects of human knowledge or resources for human development: they are subjects who have influenced, shaped and transformed us. This perspective invites us to reconsider our own position in the world and to question some deeply rooted assumptions about the supposed boundary between humans and other animals. It also encourages us to decentre our perspective and to become more attentive to forms of intelligence, communication, emotion, learning and relationship that do not seem to resemble our own. The course is transdisciplinary, drawing on anthropology, philosophy, ethology and other fields. Along the way, you will encounter concepts such as intersubjectivity, epiphany, hybridisation and epimelesis, among many others. But don't be intimidated by the terminology! No previous knowledge of anthropology, philosophy, ethology or zooanthropology is required. What the course does require is curiosity, an interest in human–nonhuman animal relations, and a willingness to question some familiar ideas and look at the world from a less anthropocentric perspective. Slides and a bibliography will be provided.

Philosophy is not about memorizing names, dates, and theories. Philosophizing means learning to ask questions, recognize contradictions, analyze arguments, and better understand the world we live in. I studied Philosophy and History and have spent decades working on philosophical, social, political, and technological issues. I offer one-on-one classes for both students who need a deeper understanding of philosophy and adults who simply want to think, learn, and discuss topics that interest them. We can work on the history of philosophy, texts and authors, logic and argumentation, epistemology, ethics, political philosophy, materialism, philosophy of technology, artificial intelligence, or any other philosophical issue you want to understand or discuss. You can also simply come with a question. No prior knowledge is necessary. We start with what interests you and brainstorm together. My goal isn't to give you ready-made answers or convince you of a particular doctrine. I want to help you develop your own arguments, uncover the assumptions behind an idea, and learn to look at a problem from different perspectives.
