Trusted teacher: Hello, The courses are above all adapted to the personality of the student, his artistic sensibility and his objectives. Through my professional experience and my years of study, I will be able to guide the student to the beginning of artistic autonomy and an ability to learn on his own. During our first interview we will talk together about the student's objectives, and assess his level by taking into account his artistic skills. I would clarify doubts and questions about the amateur or professional artistic career as well as the cartoon and video game industry and related studies. The most important thing for the student is self-confidence and fulfillment, which will be the pillars for artistic progression and longevity. Trusted teacher: The program is designed for students interested in concept art, illustration, visual storytelling, and portfolio preparation for art schools, animation/game-related programs, or independent artistic development. It follows a mentorship-based approach, combining artistic foundations, conceptual thinking, and portfolio strategy, adapted to everyone's style, vision and long-term goals. What's in it? PART I 1. Artistic & visual language • Traditional drawing & illustration techniques • Shape & form study • Light, color & values • Composition & visual storytelling 2. World-building & visual thinking • Environment design (natural & built spaces) • Props, objects, and visual detail • Character concepts (anatomy basics, silhouettes, expression) • Style exploration (realistic, stylized, symbolic, experimental) • References vs originality: how to build from research without imitation 3. Cognitive & creative process • Artistic thinking & workflow • From idea to image • Documentation & reference gathering • Moodboards & visual research • Iteration, selection, refinement • Knowing when a piece is finished 4. Digital foundations (optional / hybrid) • Transition from traditional to digital • 2D digital tools & workflows • Layer logic, brushes, textures • Digital painting fundamentals • Presentation-ready images • Case studies from professional concept artists & illustrators This section is optional and may be skipped for students with prior digital experience. In such cases, the focus will be on refining and strengthening what has already been acquired. IMPORTANT! All sections in Part I (artistic practice, visual language, world-building, technical and digital foundations) are approached according to the student’s existing level, from beginner to advanced. If foundational skills are already present, these areas will not be repeated mechanically; instead, the focus will shift toward portfolio development, conceptual depth, and refinement of existing work. PART II Portfolio development & mentorship 1. Portfolio building • Defining the student’s artistic direction • Selecting and developing strong themes • Creating cohesive series, not isolated images • Aligning personal style with academic or professional expectations • Consistent review, feedback, and refinement 2. Application-specific support (where applicable) • Portfolio selection & sequencing • Artist statements or motivation letters (with visuals) • Adapting work to specific institutions or programs • Understanding evaluation criteria

Marylene - Lyon, France46€
Trusted teacher: Hello, Let me introduce myself, Marylène, professional storyboarder, graduated in animation cinema. I offer serious drawing lessons adapted to the level of the student, from the beginner to the young professional through the animation student. During the first lesson, we will talk about the student's expectations and set the artistic objectives by defining a personalized program. I would assess the level of the student, his strengths and weaknesses for a tailor-made course, taking into account to nourish his universe and his sensitivities with a background both cultural and technical. I teach both the basics of solid drawing to beginners (perspective, proportion, composition, volume, anatomy, gesture, posing, principles of animation ...) as well as to students / future students in animation cinema, to young professionals who want to specialize in storyboard or who have questions about how to develop a TV pitch. For the storyboard part, my specialty, I will teach the basics of cinematographic language (types of framing, transitions, camera movement ...) and I will follow with basic exercises to be able to make parts of portfolio. Indeed, I can also support the student for the realization of a portfolio / demoreel for animation schools. I could guide him to feed and build his book taking into account the expectations of schools and studios. I travel to Lyon for a travel fee, and also give online lessons via Webcam and screen sharing on Skype. Students will have free follow-up by phone, email, whatapps or facebook as well as personalized feedback on the exercises. My teaching areas: - Academic drawing - Preparation for entry to art schools - Dynamic Posing / Gesture - Storyboard - 2D animation - Pitch TV series - Integration into the professional world (portfolio / demoreel / CV) French and English.

Trusted teacher: I was talking to a colleague of mine and we were working as art teachers and she asked me, “Doesn’t it happen to you sometimes that you draw something and you can’t make a resemblance between it and your drawing?” I answered her with utmost confidence, “Of course not, the amateur artist is the one who makes mistakes once and gets it right the other time, while the professional can make a resemblance every time he draws.” It was clear on her face that she didn’t like my answer… What made me confident in myself to say these words, and before that the words were actually able to achieve them, is my practice of the theory of measurements and angles, to which I attribute the credit, after God, for making me a professional. Now, what if I told you that someone had a talent for drawing and turned it into a set of steps that you could understand and implement? Do you know what that means? It means that anyone can draw, not just the talented. Let me explain in more detail. The theory of measurements and angles is a theory whose mission is to analyze the mental processes that take place in the artist’s mind, which enable him to draw, and turn them into steps. This means that this theory can make you draw even if you do not have any talent... Yes, as you read, this theory consists of three rules that anyone can understand and then make the necessary effort to apply what they understand. As a result, their well-deserved reward will be to have the ability to draw anything, even if they originally lack talent, so what if you have the talent and just want to hone it? However, it is important to note that this theory is not suitable for someone looking for an easy or quick method that relies on some tricks. Rather, it was designed to help people who are willing to put in the time and effort required to achieve their desired goal, which is to build a solid skill for a professional person who is confident that every time he wants to draw something, he will succeed in doing so. Important note: This course consists of seven lectures and the total course time is one hour and twenty-four minutes. Important note: I will send the links to the video lessons to the student. After the student finishes watching and applying, he will send his drawing to me. I will make a video of critique and correction, and then send the video to him.

I have had two lessons with Noemi and I am looking forward to many more. We spent a significant amount of time in the first lesson discussing and clarifying my goals as well as the artists I admire. She asked great questions, really digging into what I am seeking to do and be. I could tell right away that she wanted to understand my motivations and what I am looking for in a tutor. Noemi has been easy to talk to, open and responsive to my thoughts and concerns. She spoke to me as a peer, a fellow traveler seeking to understand more about art. I appreciate this, as it has not been my experience with other teachers. (They were not interested in what I already know). Noemi has been enthusiastic, insightful, intuitive and has set clear expectations. I appreciate the thoughtfulness she has put into creating follow up documents that detail what we reviewed in the previous lesson, including print screens of examples of art work to help me along. She is great!

Leia is a super knowledgeable and personable teacher. She tries to understand what are your goals when trying to improve your drawing skills and adapts the lessons to help you with it. After a couple of lessons I already started thinking differently when approaching a blank canvas and it has been really helpful for me when trying to portray what I’ve got in mind.
