About Me
hey you!
First of all, thank you for visiting my profile and so nice to meet you. I would love to get to know you. To get an idea of me, here is a short introduction about myself.
I describe myself as a world-traveler with a big passion for languages, cultures and challenges. I am in love with life itself and a big fan of sports, food, reading and learning new things.
I was born in Goa, India, where I have learned English to communicate with the people there, and where I have lived until the age of 3. Then I moved to Italy to live at my dads home, where I learned Italian. At the age of 6, I moved to The Netherlands, where my mom is originally from, and I was raised there. I learned Dutch and more English, as English has become a prior language in The Netherlands. Also, I graduated in a Bachelor Degree in English.
As I have always traveled since I was a kid, the wanderlust inside me has never gone away. During my university and work schedules, I traveled the world and developed more languages. At the age of 23, I studied in Buenos Aires for a year, where I learned Spanish. At the age of 26, I lived in Brazil and learned Portuguese. That's how I ended up speaking 5 languages.
During my life abroad, I realized how important it is to speak English. Nothing is more frustrating than not being able to communicate with people in a foreign country. But also, improvement of a current speaking language is never a bad idea, as there are always new things to learn.
As an open-minded person with years of experiences in learning and speaking languages, getting to know new cultures and connecting with new people, I know the position in which you find yourself in. And I am here to help you to learn/improve your Dutch. If I can speak 5 languages, you can too. And always in a fun way! Speaking about the way of teaching.
How do I teach?
Every person is different. That's why I personalize my classes per student, so that you learn in a fun and comfortable way. Cause only when you are comfortable, learning is fun and motivational. First, I give a class to see who my student is. Like that I get to know the level of proficiency you own and what is the best way for you to learn.
My classes differ from grammar/vocabulary classes to practicing talking together. Also, I teach per topic. For example: introducing yourself, having a proper conversation about your day, traveling (asking your way around), restaurants/bars (how to order/talk about food). But also grammar and vocabulary classes to improve the basics. Anything to make you become a professional in Dutch!
In addition, I help students with schoolwork and writing a thesis in English and Dutch. I know how hard it is to write a thesis and how nice it is to get help with that. Last but not least, I review every class and give feedback, in order to make sure that the process goes well and suits your needs.
I really look forward to starting this journey with you! Do you?

A good start is half the work. In my first lesson you will learn how to greet someone in Dutch and how to introduce yourself and someone else.
This lesson consists of discovering new words, sounds, a reading exercise and having a conversation together.
But always in a fun and educational way.
