There are currently 230 million portuguese speakers in the world and you can become one! Portuguese is sometimes tricky but you can learn it in a fun way. As I am a native speaker, I can teach you the basics so you can handle a nice conversation, understand songs and improve your language skills. If you are already an intermediate or advanced student, we can work on that so you refine this skill and upgrade. My english level is C1 (score 104 TOEFL), therefore we can communicate without any problems, and I can teach you in little steps. I am a very talkative student. As I always loved to read and write, I graduated in law. Now I am pursuing my masters in international commercial law at the University of Lisbon. In the academic year of 2020 to 2021, I am living in Rotterdam participating in the Erasmus program.
I can teach basically anyone who is willing to learn. As I am a native speaker, it is easy for me to teach you the basics. And if you already know some portuguese, we can together improve these skills so you can become better and better.
If you have interest in legal and business areas, we can incorporate these interests in our classes. I studied and continue studying law, thus I am very qualified to teach you these very technical terms that it is maybe hard to find online, or with another teacher that does not have this legal background.

I graduated in Brazil. My high school was also a technical management school where I learned business administration. My law degree is provided by Faculty of Law Milton Campos. Currently studying masters in International Commercial Law at University of Lisbon

Oi Tudo bem? My name is Marcelo and I am from São Paulo.

I teach Portuguese and Brazilian Portuguese in The Hague and Rotterdam. Fortunately, I can combine my university studies and 23 years of practical teaching experience in such a way that the lessons are well-founded and stimulating.

I have lived and studied in Brazil and Portugal (Coimbra), so I am a native speaker, with a lot of knowledge of the associated culture. By twist of fate, I am also bilingual, so I can explain grammar in Dutch and vice versa. My training is focused on speaking skills.

For years I also gave business training at two very well-known language schools, so I know how to transfer a lot of knowledge in a short time. As a student you will feel this immediately from the first lesson.

Learning Portuguese for business or urgently (within 10 working days) is also possible. I have a Chamber of Commerce and VAT number.

I have a lot of experience teaching lessons via Teams of Whereby (Whereby is more professional and European), even before the crisis because I also teach students in other countries.

For virtual lessons, you will receive a transcript of the lesson by email after the lesson. Classes at my home are also possible with 6 feet of distance and good circulation.

My lessons are very structured and step by step. In addition, I always explain the 'why' of a grammatical topic, which creates a link that also works better for memory and makes the lesson more interesting.

Because I am so results-oriented, I try to gently guide trainees up the stairs to full speaking skills and my job is to make the lessons as educational and attractive as possible.

Would you like to learn a new skill? You've come to the right place. I am Portuguese and I am fluent in this fantastic language. During my Portuguese lessons you will not only learn the language, but I will also enrich your knowledge about Portuguese culture: Portuguese customs and superstitions for example. I use a teaching method that covers spelling, vocabulary and pronunciation of the words. The latter is often missing in other courses and tutoring. I’m fluent in teaching both bacalhau Portuguese and caipirinha Portuguese (PT & BR). I’m deeply involved with both cultures.

My classes are tailored to meet the needs of my students. I have the experience and skills to offer conversation lessons and/or more structured classes focused on grammar.

I have been teaching at the Una Paloma Blanca language school in Rotterdam since 2020.
