French Tutoring – conversation, reading, writing, and practice!

In these lessons we will use the language skills you already have to discuss topics relevant to your ability level and interests. In doing this you will practise and improve your speaking skills, and I will give you feedback and advise, as well as introducing you to new language. In English teaching lessons I use reading, prepared topics, and listening. I can also prepare lessons based on questions you have or parts of the language you would like to explore. For example, a lesson on phrasal verbs using reading to introduce language, and then discussion to reaffirm it. In these lessons I can introduce you to new language and concepts and they are a very effective way of learning! Please let me know what level you are when you book.

For the past two decades, I've had the privilege of tutoring in both French and English. My students have ranged in age, background, and origin, spanning children, teenagers, adults, professionals, and even seniors aged 85 and above. You might wonder why I teach both languages. Well, I am bilingual, with American and Swiss/French roots, and I currently reside in Ireland. This unique blend of experiences equips me with a strong and relevant teaching approach. My approach is highly adaptable, with a focus on addressing each student's unique priorities. Some seek to refine their pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary, while others require assistance with presentations or speeches for school or work. Some simply aspire to acquire a new language to enrich their general knowledge. I also specialize in teaching younger children, a testament to my educational background and experience.
