I am a certified American Speech Therapist, and am familiar with working with both children and adults, at all levels.
I can help you to improve not only your knowledge and vocabulary of English, but also to facilitate specific speech sounds of the English Language.
Learning the phonetics of the English language can be challenging for many (for example: French speakers typically speak towards the back of the throat for several sounds, whereas English speakers produce many sounds with the front of their mouth). My knowledge as a Speech Therapist can help provide you with the most representative way to learn English.
I have clinical experience both with adults and children, of all different levels, and am also trained in working with children and adults with special needs.
My goal is to help you learn English naturally, and in the most functional way, using both worksheets, conversations and real-life scenarios. I tailor my sessions to each student based on their individual needs and interests.

Acerca de mí
I'm passionate about improving the communicative abilities of every one of my clients, and can adapt my materials and lessons based on each individual's learning styles. (Auditory, visual, kinesthetic, auditory+visual, etc)
I'm from Detroit, Michigan, and have lived in Cannes since September 2017.
I truly enjoy communicating with other individuals and learning about their interests/passions.
I have 3 cats and one bird, so I think it's safe to say that I am an animal-friendly person! (Yes I brought them all the way over from the U.S!)
Formación
Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology: Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan-May 2016.
Bachelor's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan-August 2014
Experiencia / Calificaciones
Prior to my move to France, I spent the last year working at a neurological rehabilitation facility as a speech therapist for people with traumatic brain injuries and neurological disorders. It was a truly incredible experience.
I've also worked in parent-toddler education programs, with schools (ages 4 years to 18 years) and outpatient clinics, in addition to inpatient/outpatient hospitals.

Benoît
Qualified and experienced teacher, I give English lessons “face to face” or in groups of 2 to 6 people

I am perfectly bilingual, having been educated for 10 years in England in Reading near London in a traditional English school.
Diplomas:
Bac + 5: Engineer from the Purpan School of Engineering
Cambridge IGCSE,
SKILL
TOEFL
TOEIC (990/990)
BAFA (Brevet of Aptitude for Facilitator Functions)

Use an excellent teaching method based on all communication. Memory is constantly stimulated thanks to images, associations of ideas, the use of exciting contexts... This method works very well for all ages and all levels.

I have 7 years of teaching experience at all levels, academic support, refresher training, oral coaching, travel preparation.

I also hold the BAFA (Brevet d'Aptitude aux Functions d'Animateur) and teach children in a fun and adapted way, using games, songs, plastic activities, so that they quickly become comfortable, and happy to speak English!

The ++
Clear and effective explanations with a white table with visual support, at home
An interest for multiple subjects allowing for various and interesting connections (travel, languages, culture, technology, sports, ...)
Utilization of support and ideal methods (essential grammar in use, vocabulary builder)
Use of board games, music and theater, particularly appreciated by children
A good cup of tea (or coffee)

Group courses: minimum of two people.
Travel costs may be requested for home lessons.
Do not hesitate to call me for more information

Benoit

3 good tips to learn a language

1) Listen a lot

This is essential. And easy, for English. You can watch movies or series, subtitles in French at first then in English when you are more comfortable. You can listen to the songs in the lyrics ("lyrics" in English).

2) Many speakers

Also essential, find a teacher who has a good conversation, or a friend, college... Speak even if you lack vocabulary. Mime the missing words, draw, make yourself understood at your level.

3) Read simple things

Books for children can be a wonderful tool of progress. Roald Dahl's books for example (Fantastic Mr Fox, Charly and the Chocolate Factory...) the series "the worst witch" by Jill Murphy. Comics too.
