Hi, My name is Robbe (26). Are you looking for your first drum lessen or someone who can help you with styles, technical aspects or musicality to improve as a drummer?
3 years ago I graduated as a Masters drum at the concervatory in Ghent. I'm experienced in both studio and live situations and would love to pass on my knowledge.
We'll work 1 on 1 at your own pace to become the drummer you want to be. Welcome!

I can also teach Ableton Live for drummers who would be interested.

Présentation

Mijn doel bij het lesgeven is om studenten te motiveren en te begeleiden op het pad dat ze willen bewandelen. Dit doe ik door te luisteren naar hun noden en wensen, en ze te tonen wat de belangrijke bouwstenen zijn om daar te geraken. Ik geef al 8 jaar privéles en haal er telkens veel voldoening uit als ik hierin slaag.

Ik had een leerling die enkele jaren geleden van nul begon en graag in een rock coverband wou spelen. Hij heeft telkens hard gewerkt en mijn tips ter harte genomen. Hij speelde afgelopen jaar de eerste optredens met z'n eigen band.

Education

Ik behaalde in 2021 mijn Master of Arts diploma aan het conservatorium in Gent. Afstudeerrichting Pop drums. Tijdens deze 5 jarige opleiding kreeg ik de tijd en de tools om mezelf te ontplooien tot ervaren drummer.

Expérience / Qualifications

Ik speelde als drummer al tal van studiosessies en honderden optredens, gaande van bands met eigen muziek tot party coverbands, EDM dance projecten, musicals en tribute bands.

Ik geef al 8 jaar privé drumles.

If you are a beginner of advanced drummer or you need help with a song of your favourite band, i'm here to help you out!
I teach drums to students of any level.
Also every age (kids and adults) and in every style.
In the classroom we have 2 drumsets available and a PA system to play along with music. You just need to bring earplugs.

I myself studied at the School Of Arts in Ghent.

I can also provide you lots of info about tuning, drumheads, and drumkits (acoustic and electronic)

My drum lessons can go in all directions. From jazz to pop and rock and hip hop. Always starting from a good technical basis and live guidance. For all levels and age groups. Usually I build up the lessons from technical exercises. These serve as a warm-up and basic vocabulary for the student. The technical exercises start with simple single strokes but quickly build up to rolls, accents, double strokes and flams. The second part of a lesson covers the knowledge of different grooves. Both two-part and three-part grooves are part of the lesson package, but also quintuplets of grooves. In the last part of the lesson, the student has the freedom to bring his own music and analyze it during the lesson.

The idea is to provide personalized lessons and alternate lessons focused on technical topics with lessons that cover songs (or portions) related to the topics covered, in order to develop the student's ear in a broader context (even if without a band). The difficulty of the songs will vary based on the student's response, as well as the genre of music covered. The transition from technique to practice is fluid and engaging.
