As a drums and classical percussion educator I have more than 10 years of experience. Graduated with honors from State University Of New York, Fredonia, Mason School of Music in 2013 and earned my Masters of Music In Drums at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht, Utrechts Conservatorium. I have had the privilege of studying with world renown percussionists and drum set players including Dr. Kay Stonefelt, Shawn Pelton, Eric Shin, and Joost Kesselaar. As an engaging drum set and percussion instructor, I provide music lessons rooted in humanistic philosophy which allows me to cater each lesson in an individualized manner and develop richer and more meaningful relationships with each student. Lessons are provided in a rented rehearsal and practice room space, Students can expect to acquire the necessary technique, musicality and abilities to engage in any musical setting such as rock and pop bands, jazz combos, classical ensembles, experimental or avant-guard music making, marching band music and drumline instruction.

I am a classical percussionist and a drummer, with many years of teaching and playing experience. I completed a Bachelor and a Master course in classical percussion in Italy, now I am studying a Master in Jazz & Pop drums at the HKU in Utrecht. I have an excellent knowledge of musical theory due to my studies and I love teaching because sharing my passion with others is important to me. I have experience teaching many students, between the ages of 5 and 50, since I was 18. I taught in two music schools, led projects in kindergartens and gave percussion instrument lessons in high schools. I trained students as percussionists in two school orchestras. Additionally, I used to write and produce learning materials with my students, to encourage accessible learning. My main teaching objective is to help students to find their personal way of playing and studying, without forgetting the most important thing; having fun. I understand that music should be fun, and those students not having fun will not get the best results. I usually start my lesson with the basics such as reading music, holding sticks and posture. I evaluate the student’s strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to reflect and evoke healthy self-criticism, to help them improve with a positive attitude. I always try to inspire my students, and at the same time I am inspired by them, as by playing music together we can learn a lot from each other. Whilst my students have learned a lot from me, likewise, I have learned a lot from my students and this has been very valuable to my development. I believe I would be an asset to you, because I am a flexible, open minded, experienced teacher.

Methodology I base my teaching what the student wants to learn and also through years of teaching and learning I can help guide you on this path. Techniques, phrase development, solo, accompaniment, odd rhythms and creation of your own sound. We will cover traditional rhythms from Turkey, the Balkans, Egypt. I can teach darbuka and bendir from beginner to advanced level. Riq, indian tabla, konnakol, cajon, daf, indian tabla and percussion set ups can also be taught A bit about me: I have been playing oriental percussion professionally since 2010 with many groups and touring all over the world and I've recorded albums for groups such as Light in Babylon.

🥁 I give drum and/or percussion lessons for students of all levels (beginner/intermediate/advanced) from 8 years old. 👨‍🎓 I am currently a professional musician in Brussels, and graduated from several music and art schools, both in instrument and theory. (Master 2 in jazz drums - Bachelor of Musicology - DEM in Musical Training). I have been teaching drums for 10 years, in private lessons, in private schools and sometimes in conservatories. 🙌 I offer personalized support based on each student's personal desires and motivations.
