Composition is hard to define and is by no means limited to one particular style or genre. Our meetings would provide a framework and the context for you to delve deeper into your chosen ideas and creations. As well as composition, I am able to assist you with music theory, ear training, piano and general musicianship. I plan my lessons individually and orientate myself towards your goals. Whether you want to create a Bach fugue or a new single for your EDM album, I would be there to support your stylistic decisions.

Hello there! Do you wish to learn to play the piano but do not have several hours every day to dedicate to practicing? I can help! With 15 years of teaching experience, I’ve honed my methods to facilitate rapid progress and maximize efficiency. My students achieve in months, what usually takes years when following a conventional music school program. Nonetheless, I am not taking any shortcuts. On the contrary, one of the reasons why my students progress so fast is my insistence on building solid fundamentals. I strive for my students to master the necessary tools for them to then achieve their own personal ambitions. Having observed the practice routines of professionals and university students worldwide, I've realized that there's often much time to be gained during practice. Realizing everyone's personnality, approach, affinities and tastes are different, I prioritize a personalized approach tailored to your individual learning style. Together, we'll make the most of our sessions, whether you're a beginner diving into music or an intermediate player seeking to enhance your skills. And guess what? You won't need to practice for hours on end to see significant improvement. With regular lessons, even just 15 minutes of practice three times a week can lead to enormous progress. As I often say, the learning process is more akin to a marathon than a sprint. While efficiency is important, I believe that learning should be fun and inspiring. In my lessons, you can expect a supportive and encouraging environment. I'll be there with you every step of the way, celebrating your achievements and helping you overcome any challenges that arise. Together, we'll create a positive and empowering learning experience. Ready to embark on your fast and efficient piano learning journey? Contact me to schedule lessons, discuss pricing and get ready for a rewarding musical adventure! Looking forward to hearing from you! Carl

I offer individually tailored lessons in composition, free improvisation, and piano for students of all levels — from beginners to advanced musicians. Composition Lessons focus on developing a personal musical language through both creative work and analytical study. We analyze scores from various periods, including the 20th and 21st centuries. We explore contemporary compositional techniques, form, harmony, texture, and extended instrumental techniques (including their notation). Students are guided in building original works while strengthening their artistic identity. Free Improvisation This course combines practical exercises with the analysis of selected works and recordings in experimental and improvised music. The aim is to liberate musical expression while consciously shaping an individual musical language. The course is not dedicated to any single style or genre, but rather focuses on helping each participant discover and develop their own artistic voice and approach to music-making. It is suitable not only for beginners, but also for advanced musicians seeking to expand their vocabulary and deepen their artistic practice. There is no restriction to a single instrument: participants are welcome to bring their own instrument or join without any instrument at all. Lessons can take place both individually and in small groups. This format is also highly suitable for children, as improvisation encourages imagination, confidence, and a playful exploration of sound. Piano Piano lessons integrate technique, sound awareness, and interpretative work. Repertoire may include classical, contemporary, or experimental music, depending on the student’s interests and goals. We work either with a programme assigned by a university or institution, or develop an individual programme tailored to the student’s artistic interests, technical level, and personal objectives.

— A good foundation in music theory and a trained ear are very helpful when learning to compose. If you already have these skills, we can jump straight into writing music together – if not, we can simply work on them along the way. Lessons are based on your personal goals and interests and can include composition, music theory, ear training, and piano – whether for fun, further development, or preparation for an entrance exam.

My lessons are especially for you if you want to achieve freedom and ease at the piano. As a composer, I develop my ideas through improvisation at the piano, which, trained through technique and knowledge, allows for a free discovery of one's own music. So you not only learn to play your favorite songs, but also to understand them and to come up with similar ones yourself. The lessons are completely flexible, and the focus is on fun and discovery. We can learn to play from sheet music or by ear. We can include harmony, rhythm, and ear training – whatever you prefer. It is also possible to focus on only one of these areas if you want to prepare for an entrance exam or something similar [rhythm and ear training].

Hello :) For me, music theory starts with feeling and experiencing and then moves on to understanding. Listening, analyzing, singing along and writing it down go hand in hand. We can tailor the lessons to your existing skills and your desired goals (e.g. personal interest, preparation for entrance exams, music school...). No previous experience is necessary. "When you play the piano, it's music theory live" - a friend's description of me. My name is Leo, I am 28 years old and for as long as I can remember I have lived with and for music. My favourite instruments are drums/percussion, piano and guitar. I am currently studying music therapy, before that I trained as an ensemble leader in the amateur sector. Working with people is very important to me and I would like to pass on the love and ease with which I move through the harmonic, rhythmic and melodic worlds.

I am a professional, touring and performing guitarist and experienced guitar teacher from a family of folk musicians in Scotland. I've been playing the guitar for 15 years and mostly specializing in folk and indie (including fingerstyle guitar) and blues (inspired by Hendrix and Led Zeppelin), both electric and acoustic guitar. I teach children and adults, all abilities from absolute beginners to advanced players, folk, blues, rock and fingerstyle. I like to teach students through a mixture of learning by ear and learning from music, as in my experience this produces the best and most adaptable players! Lessons are charged at € 15/45 minutes and I can travel to you. Lessons can be either electric or acoustic, but I recommend acoustic for absolute beginners at first.

Learn the guitar in a relaxed and fun environment! I aim to make every lesson an adventure, with the focus being on enjoyment and exploration, rather than urgency. Music is about personal expression and connection, and that is exactly what these lessons will be about. If you want to practice English, I am happy to run classes in my native language, but can also teach in German if preferred. One of the best parts of music is learning to write your own! I can work with you to write and compose a song of your own. There's nothing quite like creating your own songs, and I can guide you along this journey, give you the tools to get started, or help you fine-tune one already in the works.

Guitar Classes (classical with nylon strings ; acoustic with steel strings ; and/or electric) in Vienna or online in various languages (ENG/GER/FRA/ESP) Pedagogue with more than 10 years of experience in scholar and extracurricular contexts is offering his expertise as a guitar teacher for new interested students of all ages. Classes are held in person in Vienna's 3rd district, and can be of course prolonged into the school year. Many groups projects with guitars as well as other music instruments were very successfully realized over the years, and many of my students have also succeeded in competitions and important (solo) performances. Do you have trouble reading music? Do you love listening to music, but don't understand time signatures, keys or chords? Music theory often sounds abstract, but with the right explanation and concrete examples it suddenly becomes a lot more logical, and even fun :) For whom? - Beginner or advanced musicians who want to better understand what they are doing. - Students preparing for music theory exams (e.g. music school, entrance exams). - Independent artists/producers who want to deepen their musical knowledge. - Anyone who is curious about the language behind music. What can you expect? - Clear explanation, at your own pace. - Theory made immediately applicable with examples on the piano. - Extra attention to insight instead of learning dry rules by heart. - Tutoring fully tailored to your level and goal (classical, pop, songwriting, production, ...). About me I obtained a Grade 8 diploma in Music Theory and also a Grade 8 Piano from the Royal Schools of Music. In addition, I hold a diploma in Audio Engineering from Hofa College. I am active as a music artist and producer myself. Thanks to this combination of classical training and practical experience, I know how important it is to make theory understandable, concrete, and musical. I use my own piano during lessons to clarify everything visually and audibly. Possible topics: - Learn to read music. - Scales, chords & harmony. - Form and analysis (classical, jazz or pop). - Rhythm, time signatures & tempo. - Music theory for producers/songwriters. - Songwriting. - Preparation for exams or entrance tests. Practical - 1-on-1 lessons, online or live (if you don't live too far away). - I provide materials, or we work with what you need. - No prior knowledge required. Lessons adapted to your level. 🎶 Feel free to send me a message with your questions or goals. We'll see how I can best help you.

Composing your own music has always been a very rewarding task. This has never been so true as the present day when you can hear what you compose instantly if you use computers to generate and play back your own music. However, to ensure that your music sounds really great (whether using computers, manuscript or actual instruments) there are many principles to be considered. I have had a great interest in composing for over 45 years. I have composed for various combinations of instruments and voices in a wide variety of styles. Having been a music teacher in a comprehensive school for over 30 years, I have had a lot of very relevant experience in teaching composition to a wide range of different ages and abilities. These opportunities have enabled me to tutor students in a diverse variety of genres. The class will be personalized to your particular standard and chosen style of composition. We would focus on generic building blocks such as structure and instrumentation as well as looking at how to develop ideas. Using a range of compositional devices will also be key to enhancing your compositions. I will tailor-make the class to suit you.
