ROCK, BLUES, FUNK, COUNTRY & METAL I started playing guitar twenty years ago and founded my private school in 2007 in Lausanne, Switzerland. I teach electric guitar or folk (blues to metal through all genres) but also bass, dobro, banjo and ukulele. The real plus ? I like my job and I practice it full time ... TEACH & LEARN Since the creation of Rock Note, I take my job very seriously and everyone gets a lesson up to it. The recipe ? Professionalism, passion and devotion. Of course, many things have evolved since the very beginning, but I insist on the constant deepening of my educational system to be sure to meet the needs of everyone ... METHOD & PEDAGOGY My method is focused on maximizing course customization. If you are a beginner, I will try to make you ring some melodies in no time, and if you are more advanced the idea is to make you progress according to your expectations. I am moreover an eclectic musician and I am open to all challenges ... The 5 string banjo is an amazing instrument. It's driving trademark sound and it's African roots has contributed to many music traditions, including Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz and world music. In my class you'll first learn the basics, how to hold and pick and read tablatures. We'll then go through how to play a tune, accompany other instruments and finally, improvise. During the year I'll teach you basic music theory like rhythm, harmony and a bit of ear training to help you develop your understanding and relationship to the instrument. We'll mainly play Bluegrass Scruggs style at first, then we'll dive into melodic style and sigle string, that will all be useful for playing other kinds of music, like Irish music, Pop, Jazz or Blues. I have a Doctorate in Music, Christ's Cambridge. I am able to teach piano, guitar, double bass, bass guitar, ukulele, banjo and mandolin, some to advanced level and others to conservatoire level. I have played in over 30 W End shows and with many famous orchestras and artists. I have a current [4 months old] Enhanced DBS and my own transport. I am vastly experienced.

If you are unable to easily travel to me, I can provide online tuition. A video of your lesson can be arranged for a charge.
