Trusted teacher: Hi, I’m Gaia! I’m a professional violinist and passionate teacher. My course is designed for motivated violinists who are looking for guidance to grow and advance, as well as for beginners interested in discovering the world of the violin. My teaching approach focuses on developing a strong musical sense together with a clear and structured methodology that ensures complete technical training.
Among my greatest interests are pedagogy and psychology ; I read extensively on these topics to become the most well-rounded teacher I can be, capable of helping children, teenagers, and adults in their musical learning. During my teaching activity, I often find myself recalling lessons and insights I received from my own mentors throughout my studies. I enjoy translating advanced concepts into simple and digestible forms for children and young students. I believe that every teacher has the responsibility to believe in the potential of each student and to constantly challenge themselves to find ways to make even complex ideas accessible. It is precisely at this age that the most important seeds of growth are planted. I deeply believe that music is a personal investment that contributes to the full development of the individual. For this reason, I always prioritize empathy, mutual respect, and commitment in my lessons. A lasting improvement on the instrument can only be built on these foundations. I also strive to keep my teaching informed by reading and researching beyond instrumental technique ;providing my students with a historically and theoretically aware approach to every piece we study. I completed my Bachelor’s studies at the HMTMH Hannover (graduating with top marks, German 1.0 / Swiss 6.0 equivalent), and I am currently finishing my Specialized Master in Music Performance and Specialized Master in Chamber Music at the Musik Akademie Basel. I have extensive experience in concert and ensemble performance and have been among the laureates of the Arthur Grumiaux International Violin Competition, the Città di Padova International Violin Competition, the Feast of Duos Sion, and a finalist at the ROSL Chamber Music Competition in London.
With my ensemble Trio Venere, I had the opportunity to perform in a public masterclass with Steven Isserlis at Wigmore Hall. Coming from a musical family with a strong pedagogical tradition, I had the privilege to learn not only through my formal studies but also by observing my parents teach from an early age. I have over seven years of teaching experience, and several of my students have successfully passed entrance exams for Italian conservatories (higher education) and won prizes in national youth competitions.
Violin
It is said that the violin is very close to the human voice. By playing the instrument you can transform the voice of your heart into sound. My lessons offer both an introduction to the fundamentals of violin playing and the pleasure of playing a piece. Learning the basics deepens your understanding of the instrument and its interaction with your body, stimulating both your right and left brain hemispheres, which also promotes inner development. For aspiring violinists, I also give advice on posture, bow control (e.g. avoiding tendonitis) and further development regarding work in ensembles such as orchestras and chamber music if desired. Classes usually take place at my home. Online instruction is also possible. Once a year (this year in November) there will be a concert for my students in Basel. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About me: I started playing the violin when I was four years old. First at home, then at family celebrations and finally among and with well-known musicians in Japan. With great curiosity and passion for music, I moved to Europe in 2000, where I completed my artist diploma, concert exam, and additional chamber music studies with the world-renowned Alban Berg Quartet at the Cologne University of Music. I received further valuable inspiration through studies with members of the Artemis Quartet at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels. During my training I was able to successfully participate in several international competitions, including the 23rd International Michelangelo Abbado Competition in Milan (2nd prize and the Paolo Borciani Prize) and the Alberto Curci Competition in Naples (3rd prize). I currently perform regularly with the Basel Symphony Orchestra and the Basel Chamber Orchestra. In addition to my orchestral work, I enjoy chamber music. I've been giving private lessons for about 20 years. I'm also a licensed music teacher for middle and high school students in Japan.
Violin
I'm a long experienced drummer and percussionist, specialised in improvised music, jazz and creative music in general, even though my professional activitity spans from contemporary to pop music. I have accomplished my Bachelor and Masters study in Italy, and since september 2023 I moved to Basel to do a Specialised Master in composition, performance and improvisation. With many years of experience in private teaching and two years as associate professor at the Conservatory of Milan, I love to deal with committed, passionate and curious musicians at any point of their musical carreer, weather they might want to study just for fun, passion, or as a way to enter the profesisonal world of music. I'm available to teach to drummers and percussionist, as well as other instrumentists that may want to deepen their understanding and practicing on rhythm. My artistic research is about time and space, that find their realisation in colors and rhythms. As I graduated also in Foreign Lenguages and Literatures, I like to have also a linguistic approach to music and to musical genres. Some of my main practice interests: - rhythm and dance - rhythm and body - rhythmic approaches in XX century music (mainly minimalism, serialism, spectralism, new music) - historical approach to rhythm and music - rhythmic folk traditions from different countries (india, africa, south america, eastern europe) - polyrhythms - odd meters - microrhythms I see music, drums, percussions and teaching as one of the most beautiful ways to deepen our humanness and understaning of ourselves and the others.

Trusted teacher: I offer you a new learning experience. To the uninitiated, a grammar book seems to be written in another language because the meaning of the words is incomprehensible. In a down-to-earth way, I'll translate the grammar into familiar words. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning while having a positive mindset. You can book a complete course with regular sessions or individual lessons to overcome a specific problem, such as pronunciation or a particular point in grammar. Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise. There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge: When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next. When it comes to the alphabet, words and sentences, it's more or less the same, but school pedagogy, school textbooks and regular lessons still follow the rote learning approach. In the lessons I propose, you will learn to use patterns because this is more efficient and faster. Learning is easy, but unlearning bad habits is extremely difficult. This makes it all the more important to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. My offer is aimed at both teenagers and adults who want to acquire a solid foundation of the Latin language without the time-consuming diversions of absurd school methods. I offer individual or group lessons for Latin. The methods are based on cognitive science and, in particular, comparative linguistics. My flexible programme can be tailored to your individual needs. What is particularly important to me: motivating my students and help them establish a learning rhythm; encouraging their creativity; helping them become more familiar with the language; teaching them the letters and their sounds; strengthening their memory by training their phonological loop; teaching sentence building plans instead of memorising sentences; explaining how language works so that my students can become independent as quickly as possible. I look forward to meeting you.

Trusted teacher: How to prepare for a media interview? What means should be used to fight his fear of the camera and improve his image? How to present yourself and your project in front of a camera? How to present yourself and your project to the media? Targeted content according to your project: Verbal and / or gestural communication; Seduction of the lens and / or microphone; Improvisation in front of a microphone and / or a camera; Voice & gaze; Games of one or two cameras; Chronic; Animation; Reportage; Direct radio & TV; Interview; Narration; Speech in all its forms (...) In short, several objectives: ◾ Confront your shyness in front of the microphone / camera. ◾ Understand his speech and his diction. ◾ Taming the media environment (radio / tv). ◾ Familiarize yourself with your image and voice. ◾ Manage your speaking time. Through exercises (diction, voice, presence, breathing, presentations, time management, etc.), role plays, interview simulations and familiarization with one's image and voice, the participants move at their own pace in a flexible educational framework. Note that during the videoconference session, all the notes are transcribed in the chat so that you can access them at any time when you wish. Indeed, speaking is a predominantly physical activity, which, while taking care of its image, is based on a body, a voice, a breath, a rhythm (diction) and an emotion (the imagination and the sensations ) reflecting the speaker's involvement in his speech. How to send a clear message? How to make the difference, to make an impression? Knowing how to speak, act and interact in public is almost a necessity today: your public speaking must be effective and efficient with clear, simple and powerful messages. Simple and pragmatic tools will be presented for: generating listening ● making an impression ● fostering confidence ● generating need ● motivating teams by explaining a strategy ● getting messages across within groups ● overcoming shyness by assimilating 3 CRV axes (body-breathing-voice) ● better manage disagreement or conflict. Mastered, the method allows: • improve self-confidence and stress management with the development of the speaker's fluency (verbal-bodily), his public speaking and his sense of repartee and improvisation. • to work on their ease, leadership, charisma, creativity and personal development through scenarios. * improve the characteristics of the spoken voice (timbre, pitches, intention, flow). * get your message across through your image, while gaining improvisation skills and responsiveness. Supplemented by basic exercises (diction, voice, presence, breathing, presentation, time management), role plays, improvisations and simulations. With the key word: pronunciation, diction / articulation, the sense of repartee. Statistically, the progression following these private sessions is quickly noticeable, from 2 sessions. ( study 2020). Trained in Grande Ecole post-preparatory classes & Ivy League university in the United States, specialized and has worked for more than 15 years, in Europe and North America, in the field of communication and public speaking, in renowned international public and private establishments, intervening in forums and conferences, and oriented on pedagogy and careful methodology. - Locations: Geneva - Lausanne - Friborg - Neuchâtel - Montreux - Basel - Sion - Sierre - Morges - Bienne. But currently and until further notice, only by videoconference in accordance with national recommendations on Covid. These sessions also seem to be perfectly unanimous since they have the advantages of live (example: quality of the interaction), without its disadvantages (example: loss of travel time), with additional advantages (example: of notes on the chat, which can be reread afterwards). In this context, these videoconference sessions for which you have requested me, seem to suit everyone perfectly, take place in a very optimal way and generate a certain enthusiasm (and a certain enthusiasm). That is why, at your request, I continue to offer this option. Take good care of yourself and yours! PROGRAM À la carte program: evaluated and adapted to each need.

Kevin is a genius, who is capable of breaking down complex concepts into manageable, useful bits. If you think of a really large basket of vegetables and fruits. You know all the nutrients are good for you, but it would be tedious to try to eat it all raw. But then, you get a juicer or blender or 'Nutribullet', and juice all those vegetables and fruits into a refreshing smoothie. You can then drink that smoothie as quickly or slowly as you wish, and still get all the necessary nutrients... That's what Kevin can do - he juices all the complex intricacies of the German language into something you can understand and digest. His methods are unconventional, but very helpful in laying a proper foundation for a successful language learning journey. Very highly recommended.
