Are you interested in learning Italian or English, or improving your fluency? You've come to the right place.
I have officially been a teacher since 2018 and I'm currently working as a part-time English teacher at a public school in the centre of Brussels. I have experience with kids, teenagers and adults and I enjoy the variety of teaching different age groups. During our lessons we'll be using real-life material such as newspaper articles, poems, songs and stories, but also videos and films, or anything else you're interested in! I adapt my classes to the needs and interests of my students, which means you won't get bored and before you can realise it, you'll find yourself speaking another language!
I also offer tutoring in these areas: homework, literature, FCE / Cambridge exams, academic and creative writing.

As a native English speaker and near native Italian speaker, I can help you from the basics, to helping you correct university level papers, and to just sitting down and having a chat with you!
I have had past experience with tutoring and am flexible towards what my students want. If you're looking for someone to give you weekly homework, and to teach you grammar and vocabulary then I can do just that (with an entertaining, laidback feel to it). Ciao ! Je m’appelle Francesco et je vis en Belgique depuis 2018. Je viens d’une petite ville de Ligurie, dans le nord de l’Italie, et je suis actuellement en train de terminer un doctorat en philosophie. Depuis plusieurs années, je donne des cours particuliers à des personnes qui souhaitent apprendre l'italien pour des raisons professionnelles ou simplement par plaisir. J’ai également donné deux cours dans une école en Flandre : un cours classique axé sur la grammaire et le vocabulaire, ainsi qu’un cours de conversation destiné à des étudiants plus avancés. Selon ton niveau, nous pouvons consacrer une heure à faire connaissance, à parler de nos vies, de nos centres d’intérêt et de nos expériences — bref, de tout ce que tu souhaites. I am an associate teacher and I offer private tutoring lessons in French, at secondary level, at lower and higher levels. In particular, I master the preparation methods for the French baccalaureate.

Passionate about literature and languages in general, I taught French for four years. I have worked in the Belgian public and private school systems as well as in a prestigious private French high school (MLF - OSUI). Of a tolerant and open nature, I teach with respect for the plurality of opinions and the diversity of approaches. My successive experiences in secondary education, in Belgium then in Morocco, have taught me enormously about the need to adapt my teaching strategies to varied audiences, taking into account the particularities of each one.

Petite précision concernant les cours avant de me présenter :
--> Je pars à l'étranger pour mes études, donc je ne donnerai plus cours en présentiel de janvier 2024 jusqu'en juin 2024.
--> Je continue les cours en visio pour celles et ceux qui souhaitent prendre cours avec moi.

Je m'appelle Katia et je suis étudiante en langue à l'ULB. Je baigne dans les langues depuis petite. Mes parents sont portugais, donc je maîtrise parfaitement cette langue. J'ai également fait mes études jusqu'à l'université en néerlandais. Je parle aussi l'espagnol, le français et l'anglais. De plus, je fais partie d'une association sur Bruxelles qui aide des enfants à faire leurs devoirs. Je vois que grâce à mes explications, ils comprennent mieux leurs exercices, les parents sont ravis et moi aussi.

Depuis février 2023, je me suis inscrite sur Apprentus. Depuis, j'enseigne le néerlandais à des étudiants de tout âge.
J'ai des élèves en dernière année en secondaire comme des cadres qui veulent améliorer leur compréhension en néerlandais.

À chaque fin de cours, l'élève aura des devoirs si l'élève peut les faire avec son emploi du temps, sinon on le fera ensemble au prochain cours. Les devoirs que je donnerai sont importants, car je vois si l'élève a vraiment compris et s'il sait faire les exercices sans mon aide. Je vais au rythme de l'élève et je suis aussi ouverte à toutes propositions d'exercices de son choix.

Ce qui me passionne par-dessus tout, c'est de voir l'évolution de l'élève et que l'on me dise qu'on commence à adorer le néerlandais. :D

At work, at home, at parties, and everywhere else, good communication is indispensable to be able to understand each other. A language is meant to be spoken and understood. The best way to understand a language is being exposed to it, whether through books, movies, songs or social media. In my classes, only motivation is required. During the first class, we explore your needs and what I can offer you. Outside and during my classes, you are your own teacher. The higher you expose yourself to the language, the quicker you'll master it. I am your coach who will guide you through it and give you some tools along with tips and tricks to master the basics. I am willing to help you as long as you need. If you want my help one hour for French and one hour for Dutch per week, or only 30 minutes/week for Dutch, that is up to you! Additionally, I offer group sessions of maximum 4 persons per session. It is your responsability to look for your classmates if that is something you are up to.
