I specialise in tutoring piano, music theory and music composition for mainly beginner to intermediate level students. My lessons are informative but also light-hearted and engaging, and I always aim to tailor the content to the student's personal interests, whether that be prepping for an ABRSM exam or simply playing/learning for fun.

Alongside classical music, I also specialise in jazz and pop piano so am very flexible and open to tutoring students from all kinds of musical backgrounds. I hold a BA and Masters degree in Music (specialising in music composition) from Cambridge University so can offer guidance for GCSE or A-Level students looking to study music at university (e.g. help with personal statements or advice for interviews). I look foward to meeting you!

Hi! I'm Ben. I'm 24 years old and offer lessons in piano, music theory, music history, composition and orchestration to students of all ages and abilities. I'm passionate about music and love to create a fun, relaxed teaching environment that allows people to be themselves and express their ideas freely.

My approach to teaching is open and flexible: I tailor my lessons to suit your personal interests and always work hard to make sure my content is relevant, valuable and inspiring. I'm classically trained but also knowledgable in jazz and pop idioms, so I welcome students from a wide variety of musical backgrounds.

Having studied Music at both undegraduate and postgraduate level at Cambridge University, I can offer valuable support and incite for students looking to study Music or music-related subjects at university, including help with personal statements, mock interview preparation or general advice regarding the admissions process.

I am a vastly experienced violinist and composer with a Masters Degree from the prestigious Lucerne Hochschule - Musik in Switzerland and Postgraduate Degree from Trinity Laban in London. I'm a very dedicated teacher, who loves to work with students from all age groups and levels of experience - one of the joys of teaching for me has been to help others find their own potential through consistent work.

I structure the class around three different aspects:
* addressing technical issues - intonation, bow technique and sound quality, posture
* music making - learning about the style of each composer/of each piece, developing repertoire
* interpretation - understanding harmony, finding an emotional connection with each of the pieces
As part of the weekly-lessons, I provide you with exercises and tools to be able to follow-up on the above. We will work together towards reaching your goals and potential, whilst maintaining a balance between the joy of music-making and achieving a high quality.

You will learn how to play the piano or hone your existing skills. Do you want to play your favorite songs and impress your friends? Learn to disassemble complex compositions on your own? Or prepare for admission? We will focus on those aspects that will lead you to the goal as quickly and efficiently as possible.

You can take lessons even if:

- Never played music before;
- You do not know musical notation and are not familiar with the technique of playing the instrument;
- Think it's too late for you to learn.

Depending on your goals, there will be less or more theory in the course. We will select exercises for you to develop your pianistic technique.

What will you learn:
1) Learn to play with two hands: You will immediately learn to play with two hands, and after a few lessons you will see that it is not as difficult as it seems.
2) You will be able to play compositions from memory: You will be able to show off your piano playing skills to your friends in a month, in the classroom you will learn compositions that you are interested in playing.
3) Learn to read music: Music will no longer be an unknown language for you. You will see how all these incomprehensible symbols easily turn into a melody.
4) Develop a sense of rhythm: Practicing the piano develops a sense of rhythm - you can better feel the music.
5) Become happier and more musical: You will be able to express your feelings in a new way. And you will also hear music in a new way - you will be able to distinguish previously imperceptible details in familiar compositions.
6) You will be able to disassemble the compositions yourself: You will be able to disassemble the notes yourself and learn the composition you like. Place the right accents and play it.

I graduated with a Master's and a bachelor's degree in "Classical Guitar Performance" and "Music Composition".
I have been teaching music for more than twenty years.
I am passionate about helping students achieve their goals and try to make the learning experience as fun and enjoyable as possible.
I have earned a Bachelor's degree in Performing classical Guitar from the University of Tehran and also I earned a Master's degree in Composition for Film and Media from Pulse College Dublin.

Teaching Style:
In this experience, students will learn everything about classical guitar playing with me.
I'm energetic. So, I promise to offer a great earning experience for adults as well as children.

I teach a range of disciplines, including piano, guitar, vocals, songwriting, and music theory. Having taught students of all ages and different levels of musicianship, I am pleased to say that I have built long-lasting relationships with many of my students. With an emphasis on creativity and student input; my lessons allow students to discover their own playing style and musical direction.

I strongly believe that people learn best when they enjoy what they’re doing, and I incorporate this into my teaching style. I strongly encourage my students to bring their own ideas and suggestions to the lessons; that way they can learn a piece of music that they really like. With a background in classical music, I underpin my lessons with useful technical exercises that encourage dexterity, time-keeping and fluency. Finally, I encourage all my students to learn at least the fundamentals of music theory and sight reading. Striking a healthy balance between diligent exercises, music theory and fun musical expression, my lessons allow students to explore their musicality on all fronts.
