As part of homework help with children aged 12 and 10, I was able to put into practice my theoretical knowledge in teaching that I assimilated in class and through my personal reading. This relearning process contributes to giving him the keys to being comfortable with the ways of thinking conveyed by the discipline. There will be a virtuous circle where the more easily he handles these mental tools, the more confidence in him and in discipline will be self-evident. This approach will be very encouraging and his relationship with the material will become fulfilling. The challenge of the teacher is then to discover the methods that appeal to the student, which are a source of motivation, of satisfaction, to transmit the desire to learn. Each student has their unique ways of translating reality, preferences, aspirations and skills that are fascinating to explore because this is what will make their individuality and the pride of their parents. Understanding the student is essential to find the most suitable approach to his mental processes and thus personalize his acquisition of knowledge because by giving more meaning, the student incorporates the heuristic fabric and the methodological insights of the sciences. Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics. What will not be the subject of the course: learn lists of verbs; learn lists of nouns with their gender; learn words with their translations; memory card game; doing school exercises; follow the program in a notebook; impose French grammar on the Latin language. What matters to me in particular: motivate my student and give him a learning rhythm; encourage creativity; make friends with language; letters and their sounds strengthen your memory by working on the phonological loop; teach construction plans instead of having people learn sentences by heart; explain how the language works to make my student independent as quickly as possible; breaking preconceived ideas such as the gammatical gender would have a link with the biological gender, the accusative would be a direct complement and the dative an indirect complement, the verbs would be irregular, the declension would be random and therefore to be learned with each verb... ; place practice at the center and articulate grammar around practice.
