Hi! I'm Fernando Benegas, a music graduate with a master’s in pedagogy. I've been a teacher for four years, teaching people of all ages, both electric and classical guitar in Official music academies.

My aim is to teach you the guitar as a language, giving you enough resources to become independent and be able to keep learning guitar even without a teacher. How? By understanding how the guitar works.

Anyway, I will adapt to your level, preferences and goals, making personalized material for you to practise and learning to play your favorite artists.

My name is João, his professional Classical Guitar with more than 15 years of experience. He has studied guitar performance at the Prince Claus Conservatoire in Holland and in Musical Pedagogy at the University of Aveiro. In addition to classical music, he also has considerable experience in other genres, such as blues, folk and rock. For beginners I teach the basics + foundations of the guitar and, for the adventurous, I teach fingerstyle guitar from a variety of styles: from Folk (Eddie Vedder) to Chet Atkin's style up to the moderns Tommy Emmanuel and Calum Graham.
This technique is very enriching and gives a lot of freedom to the player. There can be a component of music theory + improvisation which is inherent to this teaching in order to assimilate the subjects the best way possible.

I work with individual students goals and objectives.

Hello, I'm musician/guitarist/vocalist & singersongwriter since 2004. In 2009 I finished my studies in musical production (2 years) at ETIC in Lisbon and until now I've been developing various works as sound engineer, sound designer and guitar teacher.

Creative, committed and persistent are my main characteristics as a teacher, professional with 10 years of experience in musical production, sound engineering and guitar lessons. In 2014 I decided to move to London in order to improve in a more deeper level my sound engineer and mastering technics in LondonAmp – London Academy of Music Production where he completed the Sound Engineering Certificate course. Strong communication and interpersonal relation skills, fluently in Portuguese and English.

ABOUT HOW TO TAKE CLASSES

My methodology is based on the student's interests, adapting to their preferred genres and supporting the student according to their goals, from those who want to be able to play an instrument as a hobby to those who want to train as a professional musician.

It doesn't matter what level you start at! My priority is to create an environment where you feel comfortable, set small challenges to make learning exciting and see your progress through these achievements. We will use a comprehensive approach where we will combine theory with practice from the beginning, so that you are able to understand in depth what you are playing.

As a professional musician I have played shows with the likes Arooj Aftab (Grammy winner), and renowned British Folk Artists such as Martin Simpson as well as having my own compositions played on the BBC. I have significant experience in Jazz, Folk and Rock Projects. My lessons are good for focusing on performance, creativity, technique and theory.
