This class is for junior high students who currently living in Japan who are preparing for the entrance exam for senior high school and are suffering from poor academic performance. In most cases, there is no single cause for poor academic performance, but rather a combination of factors. Adults may dismiss a child's inability to get a good score on a school test as a lack of understanding, but I will carefully explore the reasons why the students are struggling. Through my own experience of studying for the entrance exams (private junior high and university) as well as my teaching experience of more than 40 Japanese students, I'd like to help you.

About Me

After graduating from Keio University, I had been a private tutor for Japanese students and I have taught more than 40 students. I've got a lot of messages that students came to like the subject they were struggling the most, their exam score increased 20points, deviation score improved more than 20(for private junior high school exam), etc.

Also, I have always wanted to teach overseas people Japanese, so I passed Japanese teaching proficiency test and now I'm blessed with a lot of wonderful students. I have worked with a variety of students on short-term and long-term projects. Recently, I helped a student who wanted to enroll in a prestigious, world-class Japanese language school in Yokohama, Japan, get accepted with a full scholarship and partial living expenses paid.

Education

I attended a private integrated junior and senior high school called Ferris Jogakuin. This school is one of the top difficult schools in Japan. I then took the university entrance exam and went on to Keio University, where I majored in sociology.

I have passed Japanese language teaching competency test and I have taught over 40 international students living in Japan and around the world. Before this job, I helped Japanese children to study for entrance exams. I like teaching:)

This class is for everyone who wants to learn Japanese, from beginner to advanced level. My students levels varies, from completely beginner to advanced(who has passed JLPT N1). For beginners, let's start from very basic part one! I will sincerely support those who have a serious desire to study Japanese. Japanese has a unique language system that is quite different from English and other European languages, but if you start from the basics carefully, you will be absolutely fine! I have recommended textbooks, so let's travel the world of Japanese together, little by little:) It is also very important to know culture or custom in which a language you've been studying is spoken, so I introduce our culture, manner, etc,, from time to time.

For advanced students, I can offer "academic" Japanese(writing essay, discussion, reading articles. etc), using my own experience of my studying as well as the experience of teaching Japanese students. Now I have a student who passed N1 and I assign him essay homework every week(I also ask him to work on reading comprehension problem because that is his weak point). Each course differs depending on students, let's create a class that you and I can do!
