Private tuition in math - italian (mother tongue) and english

Currently a 2nd year Bachelor student at EPFL, I offer tutoring courses in mathematics and English for different levels. I can also help students with their homework! I can give these support lessons at the student's home or online.

Here are the basics of what I offer in my courses (the content will then be adapted for each student in a personalized manner according to their needs). The French course includes: - Oral skills including conversations - Basics of grammar and spelling - Writing skills - Reading, Text analysis - Vocabulary - Support and assistance with homework Suitable for: students up to secondary school + non-French speaking native speakers wishing to learn French English courses include: - Vocabulary - Conversations - Basics of grammar and spelling - Reading, Text analysis - Support and assistance with homework Suitable for: levels up to high school + adults wishing to learn English as an additional language Mathematics courses include: - Basic arithmetic (fundamental operations addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, etc.) - Algebra (solving equations and inequalities, of several degrees) - Geometry - Functions and graphs (notion of function, reading and drawing graphs, linear and quadratic equations, interpretation of data from graphs) - Statistics and probabilities: calculation of means, median, mode, standard deviation, simple and combined probabilities, graphical representation of data (histograms, diagrams, etc.) - Logic and mathematical reasoning (learning demonstrations, developing logical reasoning) - Introduction to analysis (limits, basic derivatives, introduction to the notions of continuity and slope - Applied mathematics: Everyday life problems (interest calculation, optimization, unit conversions) Courses can be given up to the second year of high school.

I am trilingual: I was born in the Netherlands with Dutch parents, I went to English boarding school and I finished my schooling in France and I currently live in Lausanne. I have already given French, Dutch and English lessons in Lausanne so I am experienced with this (also on Apprentus). I am able to give lessons for all levels: from beginner to very experienced. For those interested in a preparation concerning literature rather, I am also able to give lessons (I had 20/20 on my French BAC).

I am a native English speaker. I have also studied the language to an advanced level in high school. I can offer fun and fully immersive conversation classes in which we can discuss topics of your choosing. Classes can be structured or more free-flowing conversation, depending on the desire/ability of the student. I can also simultaneously offer assistance in wording documents, emails, social media posts, speeches, essays etc. I am a masters student, having also previously worked in industry and therefore, I have experience in writing English in a professional context. I can offer classes to help in preparation for English language exams: High-school, TOEFL etc. Classes can be held here at EPFL where I study, at your home, or in a café (if it is not too noisy). I have previous experience as a high-school chemistry and science tutor.

Newly graduated from the Gymnase Français de Bienne with a matura certificate in specific option biology chemistry and complementary option physics. I offer courses in math, physics and English in Biel, Lausanne or even online. My courses are aimed at young people in primary, secondary 1 and secondary 2 schools. Since August 2020, I officially give support courses and during this year, I accompanied about ten students with difficulties, mainly in math, physics and English. Various concerns can arise throughout the course of schooling. Problems of understanding, rigor, desire to go faster or further than the course program ... I design my lessons with students (from secondary to primary), in order to identify the problems at school, and provide a more appropriate education than that provided by the teachers. I am of Italian mother tongue and I hold a university license in Linguistic Mediation (Translation and Interpretation) of the English, French and Italian language and I have a few years of experience in tutoring. I give courses of support or deepening in mathematics (analysis, algebra, geometry, ...) and in physics for all levels (mechanics, statics, thermodynamics, ...). I am able to teach the course both in English and in French.

Graduate student of a bachelor of English Letters and Translation, bilingual (English mother tongue), and having already given courses, I offer English courses for all levels, adapted to the needs and priorities of the student. I base my classes around the student: no student will have the same teaching. This is the advantage of the private lessons! I rely on his preferences (a structured or less formal education ...) and on his priorities (improve his accent, his written comprehension, acquire the bases or improve himself for an examination ...). I try to base my lessons at the maximum on playful supports and in agreement with the interests of the pupil. I offer the first class to discuss all this and to see with the student which direction we will take! I can also focus my teaching on disciplines such as translation, writing, or pronunciation improvement, for more advanced students.

English course for anyone looking to improve their English skills. The courses will be adapted according to the needs of each one. Having lived and studied 8 years in the United States and England, I offer interactive and user-friendly courses to students or individuals of all levels.

I quickly noticed that the problem often comes from understanding the exercises given rather than the course itself, so here's how I like to proceed: I always start by first making sure that the principle of the course is understood by focusing on the points that block, and then we can start looking at the exercises, given by the teacher, that pose a problem. The goal is that at the end of the rehearsal course, the student has in his hands cards with the different methods used to solve all the possible types of exercises, especially those requested in the exam. I myself take care of preparing these sheets during the rehearsal course in order to summarize all the methods acquired.
