Hello. I am an English Teacher with 9 years of experience. One of the main reasons why I've chosen this profession is that you never get bored here. I always get bored with doing the same and monotonous things, teaching is never boring as it has various approaches. Thus none of the lesson is the same. I am a teacher and tutor of Italian Language for Foreigners with a Master's degree in teaching Italian as a language for foreigners from the Ca' Foscari University of Venezia and the DITALS certification (Certificate of aptitude in didactics of Italian to foreigners) of the University for Foreigners of Siena (Italy).
The course and my method of teaching the language are based on a communicative approach: the student will learn the language gradually by using it and communicating in a real language and not abstract. I've been teaching English to small children up to teenagers at École Française Internationale. I give lessons for beginners and intermediate levels. I mix between French and English so the pupil doesn't get too confused, but also allows them to understand every detail.

For beginners, we usually talk about our surroundings, what's close to us and what affects us on a daily basis. (Numbers, directions, the weather, asking simple questions, what's a noun and pronoun and where to put them in a sentence). I like to find playful activities so that the pupil/student is in control of their work.
Of course, this is an example for a certain age group, but it also varies depending on their knowledge and their age.

For intermediates, we make basic conversation. Ex: How do you go to school; What do you do in your free time? ; What's the weather like?

The start of the course with a new learner consists of detecting their level by talking about their background, what they already know, what they must master in order to no longer have any gaps. The first lesson also allows the learner to get comfortable and get to know me to establish mutual trust. That’s why I use a touch of my British humor to achieve this. (I generally do this at the start of the lesson with my students to establish a good mood and they are always delighted!) To help the learner better engage with the learning, I will ask them what their passions/hobbies are, this who interests him to arouse interest in learning. I will adapt my lessons on subjects that speak to him more.

Whatever the reason for the course, whether it is to improve oral, written, reading or listening comprehension, I organize audio sessions, readings, everything necessary to deepen in the language.

An English course for both beginners and advanced, both for children and adults... we discover the basics of the language, grammar and useful vocabulary in a fun way, or we deepen these knowledge, with some revisions if necessary. Obviously, we will tackle all skills: reading, writing, speaking and hearing.

Who? I'm Julie, a fan of languages, I've already mastered almost four, and I always want to discover new ones. English has (almost) no more secrets for me. I'm also a photographer and a photography teacher on the side, so I have a background in building lessons with lots of practice.

How? For one to two hours (two hours recommended to progress more efficiently), I always prepare my lessons specially and in an up-to-date way, using recent articles, relevant and useful vocabulary on a daily basis. Classes are currently only taking place online, as I am not in Belgium.
