exercises with improvisation.

Objectives and skills

Guitar lessons focus on the study of various playing techniques, the study of chords, harmony, as well as rhythm. This study is done through pieces of music of various styles, chosen according to the tastes of the student (s), to match their desires and desires. We will also learn the maintenance and structure of his instrument, as well as reading scores in tablature or music notation.

Regarding this last point, it is important to specify that with Apolline, music theory is integrated into the instrument lesson, sparingly and in a manner consistent with the subject studied by the child. How to leave the usually rigid framework of the first years of musical learning that is found in most schools in Switzerland?

Based in Lausanne, Apolline has a different philosophy. Rather than offering children and adolescents to learn in individual lessons, lessons in small groups - from 2 to 3 students, depending on the instrument - are highlighted. Working in a group offers many advantages to beginners or inexperienced students.

As a Master’s student in medical biology, I have been playing piano and guitar for 18 years. I can find you the chords of any song or piece and I have examples of songs whose chords search is particularly interesting. I can teach you classical music and jazz.
I use a piano that provides an automated and complete accompaniment, that is to say that we can play as with a band with a drummer and musicians of any style. This is very convenient.
I also have recordings of impro funk or hip-hop patterns that are what you might call "fire" to learn to improvise with pleasure.
I took classes at the school of jazz and current music for about ten years and had some bands, concerts and jams at the university. I was also a member of the Lausanne University Choir.
For many years, I made self-taught classical music in parallel with jazz lessons.

I have performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Paleo, Cully Jazz, Les Docks, and Caribana, as well as at numerous events throughout Switzerland, as well as in France, Germany, and the Netherlands. I give between 60 and 70 concerts per year.
I also have several experiences as a musician, producer and composer in professional studios in France, Norway and Switzerland.

Today, I want to share my experience with you and pass on what I have learned and what I am learning!
