Trusted teacher: Italian is a language officially spoken in Italy only, unlike Spanish, or English, to name the most spoken languages in the western world. But it's becoming more and more a must-know language for many, whether the connection with it comes through food, fashion, Opera, design, the arts in general, or any other of the many interesting sides of Italian culture to make it outside "the boot"'s borders. I have been doing Italian conversation lessons for a few years, it has always been a great pleasure for me to share the beauty of Italian language with people showing a genuine interest in my culture. I tend to keep the conversation fully in Italian, but there would be no problem at all with communicating in English if necessary. I give grammar support when needed, and I have a real interest in etymology and words in general if there's an interest in going deeper in the language. Along with the use of precious grammar books and language manuals, the best way to get into a language is to speak it, even more so if with someone giving you support with its correct pronunciation, and its actual use in a realistic scenario. Like most Italians I have an obsession with good food, I love cooking and I'm always happy to share my recipes and cooking tips. Food is a great conversation subject, and it can give you new skills! All ages and levels welcome. For the youngest, I have a degree in primary school education and I've been a music teacher for over thirty years.

Focus of my project was modeling and understanding the glacial cycles using mathematical models. During my PhD, I have collaborated with researchers in Applied Mathematics from different research groups in Europe. I also hold a Bachelor and Master's degrees in Physics. I graduated full marks with honours in Physics from La Sapienza, University of Rome. Work & teaching experience: Since my university studies, I have been working or volunteering as a Math and Physics tutor, helping mostly high schools and college students. During my PhD at Copenhagen University, I was teaching assistant in 3 Full Master's Degree courses. I also worked as a high school math teacher. Other work experience include content creation (Physics explanations) and research. What I have learnt from my experience as a tutor: I believe it is only when you are able to explain difficult concepts in a clear and simple way, that you can consider yourself a good teacher! I did not have a good math teacher when I was in high school. I recall almost hating doing my Math homework! Luckily, after taking a few math classes with a really good tutor, I changed my mind completely. I was born and raised in Italy, where I graduated and worked as an Italian teacher for children and teenagers from 6 to 15 years old, both Italian and foreign. Four years ago I moved to the Netherlands. Here I started teaching Italian to anyone who wanted to learn my beautiful language, both in person and via webcam. I currently have students of all ages and with the most diverse objectives: those who want to go on holiday in peace, people who have recently moved and want to integrate, young people who study or want to work for Italian companies and bilingual children who want to improve their pronunciation. I like to prepare my lessons with great care. During the trial lesson, I encourage my students to speak as much as possible to understand their level of knowledge of the language and what their goals and interests are. At this point I can organize a personal program. I mainly focus on the conversation, regardless of the starting level of the student. Starting from a short dialogue, an article or a video, I draw inspiration to deepen vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. I use different types of material: texts, newspaper and magazine articles, original or simplified, games and interactive exercises, everything that can make the lesson exciting, fun and productive!
