My name is Dani and I am Mexican. I always ask my students about their specific goals and their preferred way of learning a language. In my classes I like to take a conversational approach, but this depends entirely on the needs of my students. I use different books with different didactic material, mostly Aula Plus and Bitacora. I also try to practice all skills: talking, writing and listening. If the student wants it, I leave homework, which I correct during the week before the next lesson, so that we can make the most of the lesson time. I share a word or phrase of the week with my students to build a useful vocabulary. Teaching is my passion. I feel motivated by the progress of my students, which I believe also keeps them motivated. German and Spanish are my native languages and I speak fluent English, I also speak fluent Dutch (with a little accent). Therefore, I can explain concepts in all these languages. However, I prefer to speak Spanish as much as possible, also for the beginners lessons, because I believe that people learn the language better that way.

I have a FPELE certificate: Spanish as a Foreign Language Teacher Training. And I have taught A1 to B2 level at a language institute in Spain.

About Me

My name is Dani. I am half Mexican and half German. I grew up in both countries and came to the Netherlands because of my studies.

I have always given private lessons in Spanish and German and discovered that languages and teaching are really my passion. That's why I did a Spanish teacher training course in Spain and taught at a language institute. Now I teach at the Fuentes Language Institute here in the Netherlands and also private lessons, and I love it very much.

A bit more about myself: I am quite open-minded and easy-going and have a curious mind. Teaching and being in contact with so many different people has shown me that I can also learn a lot from my students. I love being in nature, traveling, cooking (and especially eating), skating, and dancing salsa. And as I mentioned I´m quite passionate about languages, so at the moment I am learning Italian and trying to improve my French and Dutch :)

I like using the CLT methond during my lessons. I have been teaching in a Gymnasium as an intern for the past 3 years and this method is the one that works best. I really like practicing the language in useful ways that the students can later on use in their daily lives.
I would provide the material for the lessons (no need for a book). I would create or print material when needed. I would also bring my laptop if something needs to be shown. It is handy for the student to have a notebook to keep track of all the work during the lessons.
