Hei!
I come from a beautiful fjord in Norway called Ryfylke and recently moved to Dreiländereck in Ötlingen, a village overlooking the vineyards.

My teaching experience ranges from beginners to advanced. I am a dedicated, passionate teacher who loves to pass on my knowledge of music. I believe the essence of teaching is to encourage the artist within to focus on expression and experience the connection to oneself.

Music for me is all about connecting to your own feelings and inner world, and finding a way to share this with other artists and listeners. I teach violin with the help of imagination as well as great methods. I focus on the joy of discipline and focus rather then being rigid. I guide you to discover yourself, your inner voice that constitutes the artist you are.

Optional focus and guidance - I have experience in trauma healing and addressing blockages that hinder joyful playing. I encourage students to explore their true self as an artist. This approach not only facilitates learning an instrument and understanding music but also helps individuals find their unique voice in life, leading to immense joy!

I teach both at home, your home if convenient, or on Lessonface. I speak English, and some German, and of course Norwegian<3
Extra information
Bring your own violin and bow, and I assist withthe rest. I can naturally guide you with looking for a good instrument for you in advance.

About Me
I come from a beautiful fjord in Norway called Ryfylke, and recently moved to Dreiländereck, in Ötlingen, a village looking over the grape yards.

My teaching experience ranges from beginner to advanced level. I'm a devoted, passionate teacher that loves to share knowledge about music. I believe the essence of teaching is to encourage the artist within, to focus on expressing and experience connection to one self. Music is about connection to your own feelings and inner world, and to find a healthy way to share this with other artists, or/and to the favored listener. I create a platform to build a healthy space of harmony. I teach violin through music and in the guidance of self-expression. Balance and authenticity are key words.

I also have experience with trauma healing, blockages and other obstacles that prevents you from a joyful growth.
I focus on how to avoid comparison, unwanted competing, achievement focus, and instead discover oneself, the inner voice that constitutes the artist.

This is a great way not only to learn an instrument and music, but to find your voice. That creates tremendous joy!

I teach both at my home, and yours. I speak well english, and better german, day by day.

Style:
Classical music, as well as improvisation, folk and others.

My approach is a holistic one, and it is individual how I set up a structure for the student. Every musician is unique, and it is my chance to encourage that individual shine and drive!

I work technical too, always integrated, in an organic way, and the expression will always be there to guide. Not the other way.

In my career, my life is frozen, my Lust, my Motivation, and my Ratschläge, my life is erroneous. Even though the settings are individual and personal, the programs are different.

Since I have been teaching violin and music, not a day has gone by without me saying to myself that motivation and pleasure are the greatest drivers of learning. This is why I always favor a relaxed and work-friendly atmosphere during my classes. Technique is of course of great importance to me.
I teach musical initiation, music theory and the viola which I practiced in chamber music and of course the violin, my main instrument with which I perform in several orchestras and ensembles.

My name is Ane, a violinist from the Basque Country. After completing my bachelor's degree in violin at the Basel University of Music with Prof. Barbara Doll, I am now excited to begin my master's degree in violin pedagogy. Teaching has always been an important part of my musical vocation: I enjoy providing individual support to each student, adapting to their tempo, and helping them discover the joy of playing and expressing themselves with their instrument. My training and orchestral experience have given me a broad musical perspective, but what motivates me most now is passing on this knowledge in a practical and personal way. In my teaching, I emphasize a balance between technique, musicality, and creativity, so that playing the violin is not just a challenge, but also an enriching and enjoyable experience.

Hi, I’m Gaia!
I’m a professional violinist and passionate teacher.

My course is designed for motivated violinists who are looking for guidance to grow and advance, as well as for beginners interested in discovering the world of the violin.
My teaching approach focuses on developing a strong musical sense together with a clear and structured methodology that ensures complete technical training.
Among my greatest interests are pedagogy and psychology ; I read extensively on these topics to become the most well-rounded teacher I can be, capable of helping children, teenagers, and adults in their musical learning.

During my teaching activity, I often find myself recalling lessons and insights I received from my own mentors throughout my studies. I enjoy translating advanced concepts into simple and digestible forms for children and young students. I believe that every teacher has the responsibility to believe in the potential of each student and to constantly challenge themselves to find ways to make even complex ideas accessible. It is precisely at this age that the most important seeds of growth are planted.
I deeply believe that music is a personal investment that contributes to the full development of the individual. For this reason, I always prioritize empathy, mutual respect, and commitment in my lessons. A lasting improvement on the instrument can only be built on these foundations.
I also strive to keep my teaching informed by reading and researching beyond instrumental technique ;providing my students with a historically and theoretically aware approach to every piece we study.

I completed my Bachelor’s studies at the HMTMH Hannover (graduating with top marks, German 1.0 / Swiss 6.0 equivalent), and I am currently finishing my Specialized Master in Music Performance and Specialized Master in Chamber Music at the Musik Akademie Basel.
I have extensive experience in concert and ensemble performance and have been among the laureates of the Arthur Grumiaux International Violin Competition, the Città di Padova International Violin Competition, the Feast of Duos Sion, and a finalist at the ROSL Chamber Music Competition in London.
With my ensemble Trio Venere, I had the opportunity to perform in a public masterclass with Steven Isserlis at Wigmore Hall.
Coming from a musical family with a strong pedagogical tradition, I had the privilege to learn not only through my formal studies but also by observing my parents teach from an early age.
I have over seven years of teaching experience, and several of my students have successfully passed entrance exams for Italian conservatories (higher education) and won prizes in national youth competitions.

My English lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive, and highly interactive, giving every child the confidence to read, write, speak and listen with growing independence. I create a warm classroom atmosphere where pupils feel safe to share ideas, make mistakes, and express themselves.

Each lesson combines clear learning objectives with a balance of whole-class teaching, guided practice, and hands-on activities. Children regularly explore stories, poems, and non-fiction texts, developing their comprehension through discussion, prediction, and inference. Writing tasks encourage creativity and accuracy, with a strong focus on vocabulary building, sentence structure, punctuation, and the use of adjectives, verbs, and connectives.

Phonics and spelling strategies are woven through the lessons to strengthen decoding and encoding skills, while speaking and listening are developed through partner talk, drama, role-play, and group discussion.

Above all, my English lessons aim to nurture:
• confidence in communicating ideas
• creativity in storytelling and writing
• curiosity about language
• careful listening to others
• a love of reading that extends beyond the classroom

Every pupil is supported to move from emerging understanding to secure mastery, ensuring steady progress and a genuine enjoyment of English.
