As a bachelor's student in the faculty of bioengineering at the Catholic University of Louvain, scientific disciplines are also part of my daily life. I teach chemistry, physics and biology to students up to secondary sixth grade. (My science classes are taught in French!).

I first identify which points are problematic in order to increase the efficiency of the courses. For the exercises, I first let the student suggest his method of solving because each problem can be approached in several ways and it is much more productive to start from the student's ideas. I favor understanding by heart because I consider that memorization is only rarely necessary in math and science. Once the material is perfectly assimilated, we retain it much longer than if we study it without understanding it. My engineering studies allowed me to better link the abstract concepts of mathematics and science to concrete problems. If the student needs it, I can therefore easily give many visual and intuitive examples in order to speed up understanding. I have a PhD in Theoretical Nuclear Physics and I have taught mathematics and physics from primary school to undergraduate university level for more than 16 years. Students often experience these subjects as difficult and boring. My goal is to make them accessible, interesting and fun. I can provide help for students at any level and I adapt my classes to the needs of the individual student. The first sessions will be used to gauge the level of the student and to set short-term, mid-term and long-term goals. We will then work towards these goals in a systematic way, but I also make an effort to expose students to broader applications of mathematics and physics.
