Violin lessons with fun and passion!

In my classes we will study music theory, learn the posture and various violin techniques, work on the sweet sound production and on the pieces/songs that you like!

Having an experience of teaching full time in Singapore for 4 years, I have came up with lots of methods in teaching and helping my students with progress in violin playing. Currently I went on to continue my studies in Switzerland and now am offering online classes to everyone who is interested in learning to play Violin

I’m very patient and diligent teacher. From my students I expect involvement, concentration in class and of course passion for violin:)

For beginners we would start with learning Music Theory and how to apply it to the violin. Followed by learning the posture and techniques on how to produce sound we will gradually get to the point where a student will be able to play simple tunes in 1-2 months!

For intermediate and advanced students we will work on the repertoire based on their level of playing, as well as supporting the process of learning new pieces by adding exercises and scales to improve their technique and to ease the study of a piece! I enjoy working on different styles and periods of music and also to improve student’s sound and musicianship!

You will find our classes easygoing and fun!

As a violinist: I am currently a student at the Geneva University of Music, after having followed the pre-professional course at the Conservatoire de Musique de Genève. During my career, I won several prizes such as the Vatelot Rampal competition in Paris and the Jeunesses Musicales of Switzerland soloist, and string quartet (alongside Julie Berthollet in particular). I also attended the Indianapolis University Academy summer internship.

As a Pedagogue: in addition to sporadically giving individual lessons for 4 years, I was part of the "Jeunesses Musicales of Switzerland" youth and youth internship team for three consecutive years.

Overall, my goal is to allow my students to have fun making music, to express themselves as they wish and hear, with their instrument!
I adapt the rhythm of my teaching, my teaching materials, the choice of songs to each, according to the requests that are made to me. My classes can also take the status of personal work support; in this case, students can obviously bring me their scores worked with their main teacher, or those they play in chamber music / orchestra.

In short: The violin is an art, it learns yes, but we play! :)

*Maximilian is the violinist of Ensemble Contrechamps (Geneva) and a PhD candidate at the University of Leiden with prior degrees from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. Max has performed in major venues across Europe, The Americas and the Middle East as an orchestral & chamber musician, and as a soloist.

*Lessons are 60 minutes in duration focusing on improving violin technique, ear training, musicality, and development of classical repertoire and improvisation skills. Max employs a blend of the El Sistema and Suzuki methods and aims to consistently improve and grow ones violin technique and musical intelligence in a fun and engaging way.

Hello! My name is Larisa and I recently graduated with a master's degree in pedagogy from the Haute École de Musique de Lausanne.

Currently, I am also a music teacher at the Bilingual School of Swiss Romande and at the Teremok school in Lausanne. Furthermore, I am involved in many musical projects, such as the cooperation with various accordion orchestras in Switzerland, artist within the company Ad'Opera and ContaCordes, co-founder of the Duo Larmarosso (accordion/violin).

SOLFÈGE: My courses cover several aspects necessary for the successful learning of music theory: strategies for recognizing intervals, chords and rhythms and their executions, singing, musical indications, exercises, attentive listening, musicality. Je propose des cours de violon à des musiciens de tout âges et tout niveau : Initiation, intermédiaire, avancé jusqu’aux Hautes Écoles. Pour l’initiation, je commence par une approche ludique de l’instrument puis progressivement l’apprentissage des techniques de base à travers des petits morceaux. Bienveillant et à l’écoute, j'accorde beaucoup d'importance à un enseignement concret et solide (posture sans tension, développement de l’écoute, technique saine, musicalité), tout en laissant l'élève profiter de sa liberté pour développer son expression et son plaisir de jouer. Si besoin, je peux compléter de cours de solfège, à la demande de l’élève :)

Arthur Decaris a étudié avec Jean-Marc Phillips au Conservatoire de Paris et avec Julia Fischer à la Hochschule de Munich. Depuis 2023, il poursuit ses études auprès de Renaud Capuçon à Lausanne.
Il a participé à des masterclasses avec Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Kolja Blacher et Rainer Honeck.

Lauréat du concours Rampal-Vatelot en 2016 et du Concours international Arthur Grumiaux en 2017, il a reçu en 2024 le prix spécial pour la meilleure interprétation d’une sonate de Johann Sebastian Bach au Concours international Khatchaturian.

Parrainé par Renaud Capuçon, Arthur est artiste ambassadeur Classeek 2024-2025.

Arthur s’est produit en soliste avec Jean-Jacques Kantorow et l’Orchestre Colonne, ainsi qu’avec Mathieu Herzog et l’ensemble Appassionato lors de l’Académie Jaroussky. En musique de chambre, il a collaboré avec le Trio Wanderer, Stephanie-Marie Degand, Miguel Da Silva, Walter Küssner, Michel Michalakakos dans de nombreux festivals comme la Roque d’Anthéron, la Grange de Meslay ou les Folles journées de Nantes.

En 2019 il fonde le trio Nebelmeer, artiste en résidence à la Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, où ils travaillent avec Miguel Da Silva et Corina Belcea. En 2024, le trio a remporté le premier prix du Concours international de Trieste. Ils se produiront en 2025-2026 en Europe dans des salles prestigieuse comme le ConcertGebouw d’Amsterdam et la Salle de Musique de la Chauds-de-fonds.

Passioné d’enseignement, Arthur a été amené à donner des masterclasse de violon au conservatoire de Lausanne et prochainement de musique de chambre à Rome.
