This class is to introduce you to the basics of acrylic painting. Whether it’s your very first time using a paint brush, or you need extra practice I will assist and teach you the basics acrylic painting. There is no rules in art only foundations. Let’s get started and make some art together!

I am an aspiring comic book designer who has spent my entire life practice and learning. As I've grown, there are three core artistic languages that have shaped how I create: - Shape Language (body shape, clothing shape, shape contrast) - Color Language (relearning color, color combination, textures in colors) - Expression (clothing choices, facial movements, positioning) I have created a 5-week workshop for each of these core artistic values. You may find that you especially want to focus on one artistic value, or are starting with a blank page and want all three. My Services: 1-off character consultation: We will discuss your pre-existing character and I will provide constructive criticism about it. We work together to brainstorm ideas and optionally, speak beyond it's visual design and into the setting they live in. Intended to be a one off or occasional feedback. How can the way a collection of photos is selected, formatted, and sequenced give meaning? In this course, students will begin by learning the basic functions of a camera, including ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. A manual film or digital camera is required for the course As the class continues, we will discuss styles of photography, notable photographers in history, and how to derive meaning from your images. Instructor will provide constructive feedback on the student's work and will direct the course based on the student's unique interests and style.

No experience required! Hello! My name is Makenna, and I have been making art and painting for almost 10 years. I started very young, and believe that all students have infinite potential to learn an art form, no matter what access they have to materials. Whatever materials you have available, will be what I use! I'm very passionate about demonstrating that its not the materials that matter, it's the artist's passion. I'm very excited to work with you! In this workshop, I can show you the basics of acrylic painting; how to mix paint, what colors to use, how to use a reference. I can help you work towards completing a finished piece to be proud of. Be prepared to possibly get messy and have fun! If you decide we're a good match, and want to continue working with me, we will expand on these concepts and work on curating a list of goals you'd like to achieve. By the end of our time together, however many sessions that may be (I can work with you to create a plan based on a desired amount of sessions), I hope to have helped you achieve all of your goals in painting and improve your confidence within the medium!

This isn't another technical photography course. You will learn to see the world through a new perspective. I invite you to join me and the Zoom In Reach Out photo school to learn about the power of understanding yourself and the world around you through the lens of photography. Whether you want to learn the basics of photo techniques, or something more insightful like mindful photography and journaling, we will create a custom learning path to get out and be more creative with your camera. Rather than just collecting digital dust, you will be encouraged to print and use your photos in new ways like publishing zines and other artistic creations. All skill levels are welcome. Even if you have been photographing a while but feel like you've hit a creative wall, we'll try out creative exercises and activities to get unstuck.

In the field of art you can find plenty of different styles and associate them with a specific artist. Specific styles we will go over include Impressionism, Abstract art, Surrealism, Pop art, Modern art, and Minimalism. As an artist, you'll need to learn how to explore varying styles and creative aspects. I've designed this course as a basic guide on exploring different ways to approach your art and honing on a specific style. You'll learn how to differentiate between various styles, try to develop art in specific styles influenced by famous artists or art periods, and to adapt your own style by using it in a unique way that will define your artworks.

In my work, I use both traditional techniques (watercolor, painting, pencils, engraving) and digital techniques to create illustrations and animations! With my 13 years of experience in the field, and 7 years of teaching experience, I can offer you a program based on your specific objectives. For example: - Start or improve in observational drawing, life model, sketching, painting... to have better knowledge in academic drawing, or create your own illustrations. - Create a portfolio/book to apply to art and animation film schools.

You will always need a blank piece of paper and a pencil for class. Some people say that you need fancy materials to make art but that is far from the truth. Using what you have at home is perfect! We will be taking notes each class on techniques and we will also be doing sketches every class. On the first day of class we will start by setting goals for something we want to learn more about in art. I will work with you to gradually get to that place you want. Art is something that you learn just like everything else, putting in the work is part of learning and is needed in the subject of art as well!
