I am a French native teacher and I hold a PGCE Secondary French. I have taught French in Adult Education and in secondary schools for 20 years.
My lessons are for absolute beginners to advanced students, for work, for leisure and for exam prep.
I accept small groups of learners working at the same level.
My favourite teaching method is structured questioning which, in my view, exploits students` natural language capability quite effectively. In short, my approach to effective MFL teaching and learning is essentially communicative with a strong focus on oracy before literacy.
I always make sure that students use their newly acquired vocabulary in every lesson and demonstrate their understanding through speaking, listening, reading and writing. I assign homework after every lesson to reinforce learning.

About Me
I believe that providing lots of Target Language input is key to language learning . I tailor my lessons to students’needs and set appropriate homework because maximizing the input is crucial and that practice makes perfect.
Thanks to years of experience, I have developed a very good sense of what makes learners tick and what they find difficult. I take on board students’ learning styles and adapt my teaching accordingly.
My lessons’ content is well organized. I explain the language clearly, in an engaging way, in a way students understand, but knowing that progress comes more from practice than explanation.
I am convinced that massive exposure to meaningful input, recycling, noticing and extensive practice across all four skills are key to acquisition. Therefore, I use effective questioning and other interactions, choose input at the right level, find interesting content, know when to use games, pair work, technology and avoid time-wasting tasks. I can identify which tasks will give the best return on investment and believe skills can develop with lots of practice and a good repertoire of activity types.
